My implant date has been set

My surgery is scheduled for September 25th at the VA hospital in Indy, IN. Yesterday I met Dr. Matt Mellon, my surgeon, and Dr. Alex Tatum, his chief urology resident. I'll have to say that I feel very comfortable with them. I had a long list of questions and concerns and they took the time to answer them all. I brought my fiancé with me so she could be part of the interview. So far I am not nervous, but I am sure I will be as the date nears. In the mean time I am going to use my trusty VED to pump up several times a day to get ready.
As for my decision, Viagra and similar pills never did much for me. I used a VED for several years, then moved to Edex injections. When they stopped working I went back to a VED. Frankly, I got tired of the messy and inconvenient pump.
I have reviewed many of your posts regarding your implant journeys and I think I need to go in that direction. Thanks for all the sharing of personal stories as they were very helpful.
Any advice as the date draws near?

Eugene,
Welcome.
I hope you find this site as helpful as I do. I got very nervous as my date approached and am glad I had people I could share that with, and who gave me reassurance. I really can't imagine going through this decision process and recovery process with no one to talk to about it except my wife and my doctor. (Both of whom are great.

Bob and Hugh, thanks for the responses. Yes, I was told I would get an AMS and I did research that stretching white paper and have started that with my VED. I have had that VED since 2005, but just now marked it to measure any progress. I returned to the VED about two years ago when the Edex injections lost any effectiveness..
This forum has been helpfully to me since I joined it a few years ago. But, I have not been active much in the past 4 years. This widower found a widow to marry and I needed to get serious about addressing my ED. I just recently began to surf the implant section for information.

Congratulations! Come join the club, the water is fine. Not always a piece of cake, but not running the gauntlet either. Now 7 hours after the start of my revision surgery and I will counsel; if needed, DO IT. Not a choice made lightly but a good solution when needed.
Again congratulations.

Best of Luck with your surgery.... Do exactly what your Doctor tell you to do Post-Op... I think guys tend to not do what they are told and that is when complications begin. If you Doc tells you to stay in bed for 4 days ..Do it (exaggerated example) . How you recover depends on you. Your surgeon can perform an A+ surgery with your implant, but it is you that makes the recover a success.

Dudes,
Try to find a, 'show and tell'. If you can see, feel, and operate an implant it will help a lot. Take before pictures. Your dick will never be the same again! Keep us posted. May God guide the hands of your surgeons.
