High volume stats

Postby Dustyknox » Wed Aug 30, 2017 12:01 am

Does anyone have any stats on how many implants Eid, Kramer, or Perito are performing on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis?

I am fully aware there are other fantastic surgeons. I am only asking about these because they seem to be performing the largest number of surgeries.

In 2016, Perito did 600 for that year. My doctor told me he does more than any one. I don't know what Eid and Kramer did, but I am sure it is close. The Sexual Medical Journal reported there were 52,000 implants that year in the US. Dr. Hakky did 120 last year at his age and location (Atlanta) I am sure he will be up there soon.

My surgery was with Aaron Lentz of Duke Uroligical and he told me he does around 5
A week ,so that's around 250 a year or so and given the fact that he does several other types of urological surgeries, I would say that is pretty HV.He also teaches at Duke ,so he is well versed in the technique.
ED for 28 years.Used all pills and injections until no other options worked.

There are two types of high volume surgeons. Those that advertise with web sites and those who quietly go about there practice with no advertisement.

Surgeons who do so many implants are probably too busy to take care of all of the other urology type ailments. Can they still be called a urologist or should they be an penile implant specialist?

I think so if they are well taught and Dr Lentz was very good at explaining
The procedure and excellent follow up .You don't graduate from UNC Medical School and Intern at Duke unless you are very talented.

Is there any high volume doctor in the Dallas, Texas area?

I prefer going to Dr. Andrew Kramer when the time comes to get it done but I'd like to see what other options there are since it will be a while.

As you can see in my signature, I had Dr. Allen Morey at UTSW in Dallas. He has excellent reputation in all matters of Urology and performs many implantations. I had many existing problems which he took care of in addition to my implant. I'm about 8 1/2 months implanted and everything is going great.
Implanted Dec 2016 by Dr. Morey, UTSW Dallas. AMS 700. BPH caused problems so Supra Pubic Catheter and Urolift Prostate implants. End results great. Botched implant by Dr. in Waco, TX 2006. After 10 years, went to Dr. Morey who made me whole.

@Jawalt I've heard of him. I'm going to have to give him a visit. Do you have an idea about how many implants he's done and how many he does in a year?

Thanks
