I know this topic has been discussed a lot. But as I get closer to discussing an implant with my urologist, I want to be armed with information and questions.
It's still not clear to me if there are any factors, other than doctor and patient preference, that lead to choosing AMS over Titan or vice versa . I have read some posts that anatomy of the patient may be a factor (larger guys go with Titan), but I've heard that men of all sizes have had the Titan installed. I've also heard that the Titan is better at correcting Peronies. I'm average size and don't have Peronies so neither applies to me. Also not clear when to choose AMS LGX vs. AMS CX.
Are there any medical facts, not preference, that point to one choice over the others? Any insights that will help me with this decision? Thanks.

Re: AMS vs. Titan
From my prior investigations, I found no significant medical reasons for one over the other. That said there are a number of personal reasons for going one way or the other. On the order of concealment when flaccid, I believe that they rate AMS LGX, AMS CX, and Titan. On the order of larger available length and girth I think the order is reversed. For expanding horizons it is probably the AMS LGX. For me the progression was from LGX to CX and I will attest to the difference in concealment between CX and LGX. The CX is 2 cm larger than the old LGX so I got some size growth with the LGX.
Best advice study everything you can about them, discuss your preferences with your urologist and then let him make the final decision.

David,
What do you mean "I will attest to the difference in concealment between CX and LGX"? What do you mean by "concealment"?
Also, not quite following this: "The CX is 2 cm larger than the old LGX so I got some size growth with the LGX."
Thanks for you input.

Re: AMS vs. Titan
Dr Eid said he typically prefers the Coloplast for several reasons (firmer erection, larger girth, etc). He said he typically only uses the AMS if the patient has a smaller penis or less dexterity in their hands (usually older). The AMS is apparently easier to inflate/deflate.
When I spoke to Dr Kramer's office (admittedly not him personally), they said he typically prefers AMS. They highlighted the AMS more natural and comfortable flaccid state. They said he does suggest using the Coloplast in patients that have a larger penis.
I'm larger than average, so the Coloplast was obviously the best choice. If neither option looks obvious, get your doctor's opinion and go with your gut. Personally, I don't see why someone would go with less girth if they had the option. Haha.

Re: AMS vs. Titan
I beg to differ with the larger penis gets the Coloplast statement. I have an AMS and I love my big dick!

Re: AMS vs. Titan
Coloplast cylinders are larger in diameter than AMS, and they get even wider in the XL sizes (24cm, 26cm, 28cm). All things being equal, being implanted with a standard Coloplast or XL Coloplast should give the patient slightly more girth. I confirmed this with Dr Eid and Dr Kramer. However maybe Donnie has a better source for info since he begs to differ? Or maybe there is a model of the AMS I am not familiar with?

Re: AMS vs. Titan
All I said was I have an AMS and my dick is a nice size. Saying AMS is for smaller dicks is an insult.

Re: AMS vs. Titan
Hey Donnie,
I apologize. I was not trying to say that you can't have a large penis with AMS. I should have been more clear. I was only stating Dr Eid and Dr Kramer's preferences. Obviously there are lots of people (like you) that are above average and very happy using AMS.

Re: AMS vs. Titan
Apology accepted dude,
I don't know much about Coloplast. I never seen or felt one. I would like to to compare them. The main thing is you should be happy with your choice and confident in your surgeon.

Hey Dusty, are you sure that the Titan is their weapon of choice? There are a lot of guys on here with AMS implanted by Eid or Kramer. I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.
