Deflation technique for Titan

I've been a bit confused about the Touch feature of my Titan. The advertised technique is one touch and then squeeze if you want it to go down quicker.
My surgeon said to hold it for about five seconds for the valve to activate, then release and then squeeze.
I find that even then the cylinders still have a fair bit of fluid in them.
I'm now holding the button and squeezing at the same time until it's deflated.
Does anyone know if holding the button continuously while squeezing is okay, or could it damage the valve?
Thanks
