Implant questions

Postby frank1964n » Thu Oct 20, 2011 7:24 pm

Hello all, new to the site and I have some questions regarding implant surgery and living with one. Im a single guy in mid 40s who's uses the injections which work well but getting tired of the planning and excusing of myself to go inject while with a girl. Questions for the group:

1. I had two consultations with Dr. Eid in NYC. Has anyone had surgery with him? Results? Reputation? Surgery Experience that day?

2. Can you hide the fact you have an implant from women during sex?

3. Are you stopped at the airport walking thru scanners?

Thanks, appreciate any answers.. Frank

Frank, welcome! Your questions are very timely and will be very helpful to me as well. I'll pass on anything I learn outside this forum. I think Eid is one of the masters.

Dr Eid has a great website that addresses some of your questions. If you run a search for "Eid" on the implant forum search function you will find several people here who have used dr Eid.

Frank:

To answer ? #3. No. The airport scanners will not detect your bionic status. However, there can be issues with under-trained, insensitive, overzealous TSA agents who see all as threats. You can find the post here under Implants. But, thousands of Implant guys travel every day without incident; treated with respect and dignity. It is not an issue. However, don't brag- deflate before you go to the airport. . . . . . .

Go for it!!

Best

I can answer your first question...

My recent (10/5/11) surgery was done by Dr. Eid. The entire process was pretty easy and I came from out of own. I talked to Dr eid on the phone as well as his patient Mark on his web site. ( he is great to talk to if you get a chance) I also noticed on various other forums that his patients look normal after surgery with him unlike some of the other pictures I have seen of bruised and swollen outcomes with other doctors. I had also consulted with a local doctor that does 150 per year but I was not comfortable with his answers to my questions. Dr. Eids no touch technique is what really sold me on using him. He had no infections in 2010 at all. We decided based on my age(44) to use the Coloplast Titan OTR. Ended up using a 22cm no extensions ( he does not like to use them). He really does not like the LGX and will show you why if you ask. He showed me one that he had recently removed and it was in for one year. The tissue had adhered to the device and he said it took three hours to get it out! He will use the CX but says the Titan gives a more rounded and natural erection. ( at the expense of being larger flaccid) I ended up slightly larger than I was before- erect! I would highly recommend him...
The day of surgery I went to Lenox Hill Hospital on the upper east side around 8:00am. They put me on an iv antibiotic and I had to wait awhile for everything to come together. Everyone was really professional there. I had spinal and was semi awake during the whole thing but kind of spacy. Did not feel a thing. Out around 12:45 to recovery and picked up around 4:00 pm to go back to my hotel. Layed down for a few hours but felt good enough to walk to get something to eat across the street around 9:00 pm. Ended up taking the train home the next day to spare my wife the six hour round trip as I felt fine. I did leave the catheter in until I got home.
So far so good on the recovery. I only used the pain meds the first day and a half then switched to Advil. I m almost three weeks post op so I really have not used it yet and I am still quite sore, but looking forward to it as is my wife!

Bob, thanks so much for the information about your experience and Dr. Eid. Im your age and Im going to do this by myself if I decide to go ahead with the surgery. One more question, could you be released from the hospital if you don't have anyone with you? You said you got picked up..was it a car service, friend, relative? I'll be alone during this whole process since Id rather not tell anyone Im getting the surgery.. thanks again, Frank

Frank,
I totally understand your need for discretion, I felt the same way...no way I was telling anyone but my wife :D
Due to my wife's unpredictable work schedule, I ended up using a medical companion service arranged by Dr. Eid's office. It cost just $80 for two hours plus her cab fare. They sent an older nursing student (~32yo) to pick me up. Not sure if she even knew what surgery I had done. Very professional. She could not have been nicer and she grabbed a cab for us and helped me back to the hotel and offered to go pick up some food drinks etc. I didn't need her to get anything as I had picked up stuff the night before. I gave her a $20 tip and sent her on her way...
Since I felt fine after some nap/downtime I ended up walking out and getting a sandwich around 9:00pm myself. I stayed at the Helmsley Medical Towers on 70th/York the night before and the night of the surgery. I took a cab the next morning to Penn Station and jumped on a train back home. I ended up getting the first row business-class seat by myself and put my feet up on the wall in front of me and dozed/read/played on my phone for the three hour trip home. No problem at all...you will hopefully be amazed as I was at how great you feel after.
Just do it-assuming you need it-lol. Dr. Eid is one of, if not the best doctors out there. Surgery was surprisingly easy. Size is about the same if not slightly more length. Pain has been pretty minimal overall. It takes a bit getting used to the larger flacid size, but looking hung is not too bad of a thing... I can not say enough good things about my entire experience with him and his office staff. Also, if you haven't talked to Mark (the guy on Dr Eid's web site) I would call him and get his first hand experience. He helped me solidify my decision and his experience was very similar to mine. He actually felt so good after surgery, he ended up driving home to MD (son driving) after surgery and it took them 8 hours in the car! I would also be glad to talk to you directly if you have more specific questions, just PM me your phone number and best time to reach you...

Best of luck in your decision!
Bob
