Colloidal Silver?

Just thinking ahead to when I'm healing post-op.
Is colloidal silver gel something anyone has used on their surgical incisions?
It's sort of the new age neosporin, wonder if anyone had positive or negative opinions on it.
I'll be keeping the area clean but an extra level of anti-infection wouldn't hurt imho.
Thanks in advance guys!

Fair enough I'll ask at my pre-op appointment.
The topical gel is for putting on cuts and scrapes.
I wouldn't take it as a supplement.
Although you would have to ingest a significant and consistent amount to turn blue.
It's supposed to help heal them faster.
https://www.amazon.com/American-Biotech ... B0016SJLD2A few reviews mention they used them for after surgery. I just know this surgery isn't exactly..... commonplace as some others may be.
lol blue smurf dick that would be a sight indeed.

Did you read the second link from nhis?
There are alot snake oils out there that promise everythingm that there is nothing scientic to back it up. I have found reviews from Amazon as well as other site to not always be from actual users.

This component is used medically, but for extreme, very specific cases. It is not a good idea to try stuff that is not recommended by you surgeon.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback.
Amazon reviews are definitely to be taken with a grain of salt.
Especially considering the sensitive nature of the surgery.
Cheers!

If what you are worried about is a scar.
After it heals a bit. Try using Mederma. (Read directions, online also)
I cut myself. After they stitched me up they said after it heals a bit use that.
They told me to use regular Bacitracin, if I did not have it at home use neosporin.
Generic brand same thing. It was bad weather think he did not want me going out to buy bacitracin. Dr also said keep away from sunlight for weeks.
Mederma they make a gel. It takes months of application. Has onion juice in it.
Small amount. Does not smell. They say that helps prevent/erase scares.
That I bought name brand. $10 cheaper at big box store than drug store. Generic even cheaper. Only a few weeks, most of my scar barely visible.
