Libido Before & After Implant

Brothers,

This situation I find myself in, feeling utterly impotent now, combined with some ridiculous antidepressant I've been prescribed (which by the way is a Noradrenaline & Dopamine re-uptake inhibitor! Basically a boner killing hormone) is sending me to a psychological place where I have very limited interest in sex right now.

I think that's because of the emotional pain that has accompanied this area of my life for some time and now being single - the fear of intimacy and failure.

Can anyone relate?

And for those implanted - Did you experience a similar dip in libido when things weren't going right for you and did it pick up once you had your new-found abilities?

My libido never dipped even though I had 30 years of ED issues. It was terribly frustrating not to be able to perform, but my urge was always strong regardless. Drugs have various side affects and that could certainly be causing problems for you. Best wishes on getting back to where you want to be.

My libido was waning for years following a stroke before my implant, and by the time I healed it was completely gone. My wife had lost interest long before, so we have never used the implant. In retrospect, the implant was probably not one of my better decisions.

By the time mostnon here have an implant they have been through many years of anguish. Some as above them too old to even benefit and so sad to hear that. Time is simply a clock to meeting your maker. Either after fucking well or not fucking at all. It’s that simple

My libido hasn't decreased since I was younger (I'm just basically a horny old fart now). Not bragging, just sharing.

I can relate. Many who have posted here (partucularly those who are untreated ED sufferers, relying on vacuum devices, pills or injections) experience the feelings of "What's the use?" and other similar depeessive thoughts when coital sex seems doomed.

I am no different. When getting a gal into bed seems pointless, I just lose interest in the pursuit...if there is no finish line, what is the point?

Remember, where there is life, there is hope.

I posted on a dating web site asking for a "lab partner" to help me through the months of preparation for my implant. I, of course, had to advetise my impotence. I got a lot of moral support from women on the site and a few offers to have sex with me before and after my implant. The most common comment was that these women admired the courage of a man who would admit this. I suspect also that their approval was somewhat due to the fact that I was taking charge proactively

"Never give up! Never surrender!".

Despite low T......I use Testogel daily......my libido has always been very strong.
If the question relates to post implant I have to say my libido has increased, especially in the morning because I leave it partially inflated, and that leads to that amazing ‘early wood’ feeling.
For me the implant has had a very positive effect over my libido :)

Hey Defiant,

The last year or so of my 12 years of using injections I started experiencing significant reduction in erection quality. This made me withdraw from my wife emotionally a bit because I wanted to avoid sex as the erection quality was not good enough for intercourse -- having an erection fade even with injections and stimulation is so embarrassing!! I would say that I thought about sex constantly but since I couldn't act on it I avoided emotional intimacy. I would guess that the antidepressant you are on is a primary factor for the libido issue, but the inability to have an erection may be causing the fear of failure and intimacy.

I was implanted about 4 1/2 months ago and it has definitely improved my emotional connection and intimacy with my wife. Now that the erection quality and duration is "guaranteed" the anxiety I had during sex is completely gone and this has led to better quality sex, better self esteem, and a better emotional and intimate connection to my wife. Been married 25 years and have been having sex about 3 times a week, probably the best since before erection issues 13 years ago.

It took about 3 1/2 to 4 months before I could really enjoy sex after the surgery as it was a bit uncomfortable until then.

Being able to have an erection, even if it is due to the implant, has definitely helped my mood and intimate relationships.

Best of luck to you,
Kevin
