Every time I google an implant surgeon in LA area I get urologists. Thousands of them. How do I narrow it down to implant specialty? With 9 million people in LA area there must be one hi volume implant dr with a good reputation. Dr Hakky in the San Jose area is mentioned but is is easier to fly to NY, Dr Eid than to go to Jan Jose.

Beek,

I put a LA zip code in the Physician Finder link that is at the top of the Frank Talk screen. Below are 2 LA surgeons that came up. You'll will have to do a little research to see if they are high volume. Hope this helps.

I couldn't find him. There are some local urologists with good reputations who do implants, but not high volume. You can also get recommended doctors from the AMS and Coloplast websites and some are in LA.

I was about to say... no one on the west coast must need an implant.
But there seem to be two in the Los Angles area... just a simple 500 miles from San Francisco

J. Francois Eid, MD - New York, NY
Dr. Bruce B. Garber - Philadelphia, PA
Dr Gerard Henry - Shreveport, LA
Dr. Rafael Carrion - Tampa, FL
Stuart D. Boyd MD - Los Angeles, CA
Douglas F. Milam, M.D. - Nashville, TN
Marc H. Siegelbaum, M.D - Towson, MD
Dr. Harold Reed - Bay Harbor Islands, FL
Dr. Run Wang, MD - Houston, TX
Dr. PAUL E. PERITO - Miami, FL
Ricardo Munarriz, MD - Boston, MA
Dr. Steven K Wilson - Indio, CA

Post from way back 2010. For what is worth, Boyd's name is listed.

Thanks for the replies. I love KECK and their Docs are the best. They saved me from esophagus cancer way back in 1995. Great hospital. Spent 2 weeks there after a state of the art surgery. Professor doing the work and 14 students watching from a window up above. Kind of surgery you don't want to have. It worked and I am still here. I was worried about what I would do if something went wrong using Dr Eid. Fly back to NY? Now I have a plan. Use Dr Eid and have Keck as my back up plan. Subject closed, packing my bags.

Wife changed my mind for now. She also loved the care I received at Keck USC. Called dr Boyd for a consult. His coordinator says he has done thousands of implants. Worth a look. Consult with Dr Boyd is March 12. His bio says he is the go to guy if you get a screwed up implant.

Thank You, For me it is almost as expensive to go and stay near Mountain View for the operation as it would be to fly to New York. I already looked into him.
