This seems to be lower than the average here. Mine is about 5.5 at most.
I am interested in what can really be gained with therapy.

I think somwhere around 5-6 is average.

Then I saw a survey where I think they showed women a dildo and asked them which they wanted. Think the size they wanted was 6.5.

Then another study was about length and girth. Think it was not conclusive.
Because they did not know if a longer penis had more girth. Think they assumed it would be thicker. If that is the case with an implant although you might have less length but with the added girth.
Another thing I read since the female never endings are only where the penis goes in, so then girth was more important and then length did not matter.
So I guess if you are less than 6.5 inches it might be able to give your partner the same orgasm. You would figure someone would have figured it out by now.
After going back and forth I thought they would know more.

Another big issue (no pun intended) is how you measure your friend. Obviously, as full erect as possible. But do you measure from the top looking down, and press the ruler into the flesh until you press bone? Or do you measure from the side, also pressing the ruler into the fat/flesh?

The first way is shorter. For me, about a half-inch.

So what is method for the "average" these studies refer to?

As I've suggested before, use a metric rule to measure - the numbers are much more impressive.

8 years after RP and on my third Titan in five years, I am just under five inches, about an inch smaller than my original dick. 2.5 years of atrophy between RP and implant probably contributed to my size loss.

Top looking down is the correct way. Someone recently posted a picture of it being done.

If you go by the guys that do penis stretching they measure if pressing against the bone. Another way they do it is if they are not pressing on the bone.
If you are large or overweight I guess that would make more of a difference.
Somehow I think it is what sticking out that counts.

I think the standard is standing, measuring directly on top from base to tip pressed against the pelvic bone. That will, of course, give a measurement that is greater than appearances. However, the bone pressed method is the only way to have a consistent objective measurement. Pretty much any other method will be subjective as you will have no fixed point to measure against.

No matter what, plan on it getting shorter. RP stole over an inch from me and I have been measuring the same way every time, so the technique is the same and the difference is what counts. Then my CX implant, because of not reaching to "mid-glans" as my Dr. said it would, lost another half to 3/4 of an inch and left me a little floppy. So I am shorter by about 2 inches from before all this surgery. I am very happy with what I have left...except: Would have preferred the LGX, but Dr. wouldn't do it. And I am "not quite" long enough to reach that particular sweet spot in her vagina where the most friction comes from. Otherwise, I am good to go, er cum. Lasting longer (like forever) has been worth it. I am 7 months post op and almost feel like this thing is part of me. I still pump up every day at least and hope that the implant stretches a little. Wishful thinking.
