Is it very painful during the first days? Or is it bearable?

Everyone is different, but for me, I was pleasantly surprised at how little pain I had. It was nowhere near what I had built it up in my mind to be. Occasionally I’d get a momentary pain from the cylinders. The rest was pretty much a matter of soreness, not really pain.
The whole healing process took time, but was much easier than I thought it would be.

I am at 5 1/2 months post-op. I never needed a pain pill after I got home from the hospital. I did take one the first night, but it was with the thought it might help me sleep better, not due to pain. My experience was what I would call soreness and tenderness, not pain. By following directions with several days on my back and lots of ice to avoid swelling, I had a pretty easy recovery. The main challenge was peeing with an erection. I never experienced anything scary or difficult.
After healing and getting the green light to have sex, I also experienced some soreness, especially where the cylinder tips pressed against the inside of my glans. That feeling did not last long.

My first surgery was through the scrotum. Had some pain after getting home but not unbearable. The second surgery five months ago was through an incision above the base of the penis. Very little pain at all when I got home. Used lots of ice on both surgeries. I am scheduled for another replacement March 22. Doctor said he would probably go back in above the base of the penis.

After 4 implant surgeries, I can state that the doctor’s abilities is paramount on the level of pain and discomfort you will feel. The two less discomforting were done by a skillful high volume surgeons
