What are the risks if you have an implant and get an STD?

Hi, I'm a long time lurker for the last several years to this site and it's comforting to visit here, read everyone's stories and realize I'm not the only one with this problem. I've suffered from ED my entire life from mild to severe (you can probably guess how it is now that I'm in my 50's).
Because I've suffered from ED for so long, sex is something I'm probably more obsessed with than the average guy. Maybe it's a case of the more you can't have something, the more you want it. It was especially painful when I was in my teens and 20's and not feeling like a normal guy because being with a woman generally lead to embarrassment and disappointment. One of the first girls I was with actually went around telling people I was gay!
I was 32 when Vitamin V came out and I had a blast on trips to southeast Asia for a few years before finally marrying a wonderful lady from the Philippines. Fast forward 20 years and now we're divorced, my ED problem is worse than ever. I did stop drinking a year ago which of course has opened my eyes to how shitty my life has truly become. I'm an underpaid government auditor with a CPA, Masters in accounting, living in my car and paying out $1,500.00 a month for alimony and child support.
While I respect the members here who are long married, I realize that is not the life for me. I dream of moving to southeast Asia in several years full time after my son finishes high school and living the life of an expat bachelor dating young asian women. Aside from my son, this only other thing that gets me out of bed(or car in my case) to go to work everyday and staying positive.
Of course, southeast Asia is just one big petri dish of bacteria and disease which might make it a hazardous place to live for a guy with a penile implant. So...just curious if any of the members with implants have had any experiences with STD's after they were implanted and what if any additional complications they caused as a result of having an implant.
I've googled this subject numerous times over the last year or so and there doesn't seem to be much research or shared experiences. There was one story I read where an older guy got a dose causing the penile tissue to rot and the implant to protrude, whatever that means, it doesn't sound nice.
So...now I've posted my grubby life story and I'd appreciate hearing from some of the bachelors here who are sexually active with different partners and what sort of experiences and precautions they take.
Cheers,
DDG
