My Doctor said that I should wait until my 6 week post op appointment to start pumping and having sex. I want to see if there was anyone who waiting this long on here. From what I hear the first several times you inflate are very painful. Also I would like to get some practice pumping before the big day.

Did you ask your doctor why he want's you to wait for the 6 week follow up?

Are you still swollen to the point you can't distinguish the parts of the pump?

Is your penis and balls sore to the point you can't take any additional pressure?

If so you should probably wait, if not ask your doctor again and tell him you think you are ready.

I would think you would want to be cycling before you start having sex again...but I'm no doctor.

My activation appointment was at exactly four weeks. That day I was given the green light to start cycling and nasturbating, but was told to wait a week for sex. I never had bad pain from cycling, but I was happy to have that week to get used to pumping and start the process of loosening the bulb from use.

My advice is typically to follow doctor’s orders because he is the only one who knows your specific situation. Also, they usually want to be the one to activate the device in case there is an issue so he is on hand for you. You might call his office and explain you feel good and wonder if you can start early.
