Need some advice young guy
Hello guys, my name is Anthony and I've been lurking around these forums for the past 3-4 months. I've been suffering from ed for quite some time now... I am 27 years old... ever since my first sexual encounter at 16 I experienced some sort of ED. I attributed it to anxiety. Once I got into my first serious relationship at the age of 21 I had to to viagra the first few times to be able to have sex... it worked amazingly well. without the use of pills my erections were unreliable... they were position dependent and were 60-70% at best. Fast forward to present time... I am going through a divorce with the woman who I got together with when I was 21.. ED I Believe played a significant part in why our relationship failed... it turned me into a depressed insecure individual. I am still able to have sex with pills... mostly generic viagra. However the side effects are terrible... I feel like shit the next day and look tired just an overall crappy feeling. I now find myself alone at what's suppose to be the prime of my life... I lost my wife.... I'm extremely insecure and it has even affected my social life to the point where I don't see the point in trying to flirt or talk with women. I am considering getting an implant with dr Kramer because I have seen most of his videos on YouTube and really feel he will deliver the best possible outcome. However I am frightened in terms of revisions in the future .. and just having to go into the dating world as a young man with an implant. It seems like most of my symptoms indicate I have a venous leak.... I have been told my testosterone was los so I went on replacement for 8 months and didn't see much of an improvement in quality of erections... however I never followed up to get my levels checked. I would like to get to the bottom of why I have ED. At this point is think it's physiological rather than psychological... most likely a venous leak. I've also been watching porn since I was like 14/15.. frequently masturbating to it... idk if this has had an impact on the quality of my erections. This disease is ruining my life and at Times I feel rather hopeless and feel like giving up. I'm sorry for ranting. Please give me some advice guys.
27, divorced no kids, ED since as long as I can remember, don't know the cause. Pills work but hate the sides/planning. Leaning towards an implant.

Anthony,
First of all, do not be sorry for what you call ranting. All you did was tell your story in a thorough way so we understand your situation and can offer support. That is what the site is for. I developed ED at 30 and due to never finding the right doctor to help me determine the problem, it took 30 years to resolve it. I finally found a doctor who sent me for a Penile Doppler test that confirmed a severe Venous Leak.
So, the first step, in my opinion is to find a doctor who will set up an appointment to confirm whether or not that is your issue. Until you know the problem, I don’t see how it can be handled correctly. There just seem to be too many doctors who immediately prescribe pills, but with my VL they were ineffective so a total waste of time and money.
You are not alone. ED messes with your head and does cause depression and self-doubt. You are too young to not be enjoying life. I am sorry you have had to experience what you have been through. Look for a doctor who specializes in male sexual dysfunction. Many other doctors are not knowledgeable enough to help you.
After wasting 30 years of my life trying to find out what was wrong, going through about a dozen doctors, trying every treatment, etc. I finally got an implant after I found out what the problem was. I am in a great place now and am enjoying sex again. Keep your head up. You are not at fault here. Let me know if I can answer any other questions. Fell free to send a PM if there is anything you don’t want to address in the post. I was helped by a bunch of guys and like when I can pay back.

The best news is you found this site early on so you can see others are suffering and it’s not something you are helpless to fix. I could have wrote a similar story 15 years ago and wish I had found this site to know there was an implant option. Instead when my first serious relationship failed to to my shortcomings I spiraled into depression and remained single for over 10 years. I will never get those prime years back and wish I could go back and tell myself to get the implant.
I’ve been through all of the recommendations except the injections and I’m just now getting my consultation to get implanted in the near future. 20+ years of beating myself up and low self esteem and self worth when attempting to approach women and life in general has stunted my quality of life.
My advice to you is to continue your research and don’t feel embarrassed if you go with an implant... from what I gather in here you will probably be able to conceal that fact to most women and I doubt they will care if your an everhard rockstar after...
If they told me when I was 20 I could get this done but I’d have to get it replaced several times if something went wrong I wouldn’t hesitate. Don’t let this get to the point where you look back and have regrets for not taking the chance.
Best of luck!

Dear Friend,
My story is very similar to you except I’m 53 now. I’d definitely encourage you to look into injections before you consider the last resort of an implant. Injections are not painful at all and have been given me insane confidence and an amazing sex life.
I’m not against implants, there are many many guys here that are extremely happy with it and I’m sure one day I’ll need it too. Until then I’ll just use the most conservative option that works great for me.
All the best!

Re: Need some advice young guy
Hey guys thanks for all the advice. I think my first step will be to get a penile Doppler to determine if I do indeed have a venous leak. At this point i want answers as to why I've been plagued with ED at such a young age. There is studies out there that show that porn/masturbation can lead to ED.. but I am not sure if that applies to my case. If I do indeed have a venous leak... I will most likely get the implant. If I don't have a venous leak then I might go crazy because I won't know the cause .. might look into testosterone replacement again or just quit porn and rely on pills. My biggest fear is ending up alone. I want to start a family and feel like I won't ever be able to do that if I don't get this problem fixed. I also worry about how an implant will interfere with my day to day life ... will I still Be able to be active ... bench press? Jump into pools? Go to the beach swimming with rough waves ? Surfing? I'd imagine these activities will place a lot of unwanted pressure on the reservoir/tubing.... decreasing the life of the implant.

Anthony,
Guys with implants can pretty much do all of the same things they did prior to getting it. During recovery from implant surgery you have to take it easy for several weeks, generally not lift over ten pounds for about a month, etc. After you have healed you can resume all of your activities. I swim laps, run, and ride bike. None of them present any issue to me or my implant. The only concession I made with my bike was to purchase a padded seat cover to put over the hard seat that came with the bike. Prior to getting the implant my balls were going numb on that hard seat so I should have done it before anyway. The only really change with the implant is my unpumped size is bigger so I made some changes to how I dress for these activities. No big deal. So focus on getting your ED resolved so you can meet someone, be confident and start your family, but don’t worry about sports, etc.

Re: Need some advice young guy
Antony: I got my first implant at the age of 58 because of cancer of the prostrate. The doctors first wanted me to try viagra, carverject which really hurts as far as I am concerned. So I decided I wanted an implant and I had it done at USC cancer center by doctor Ginsberg. It was a ultrex and it lasted fifteen years. I wasted no time on getting it fixed or if I needed a revision, so be it. I still felt sexually active and I went ahead and had the revision. I was an out patient on both cases and this time I requested the LGX MS pump. I had done a lot of research as to which one I wanted and I liked the expanding and lengthing of the LGX and it was the best decision I could have made. It took a couple more weeks to heal up but now it is exactly what I always wanted.
So I say, do not waste any time. Find a good urologists that does that kind of surgery and I think you will never regret it. Second doctor that done the surgery on me for the revision was IIbeigi Pedram MD in Southern California.
If you need more information you can private message me and I will try to help.

Hey man since it says your ED didn't have a known cause how were you able to get insurance to pay?
26 years old. USA. ED problem since teenage years. Doctor prescribed ED meds showing some efficacy but not a guarantee. As much as I’d like the implant I now think I should hold off if I’m seeing some results from pills
