Do most insurances cover procedures done out of state ?? If it's a PPO? I'm in California and if going to one of the high volume surgeons in going to have to fly there. I'm looking into a purchasing a private insurance since I am contract worker and don't get it through my employerZ

There are high volume surgeons in CA. I have read some great recommendations on this site about them that are on pare with the east coast ones. I wish there were some in my state. Would have preferred not to travel but I had to find a good one. If I was in CA or TX or a bunch of other states I would stayed local. Not sayin what you should do. Just what I would have. Something more foryou to think on.
Insurance is state specific. You should be able to check on line to see the coverage for the different policies are available in your area. Then when you find a plan you like call the insurance company and ask them about what is in area coverage and what if anything they pay for out of area. And check to see if they reserve the right to pick your health care provider (doctor/surgeon) for a penile implant. This is covered in my area but with the tax penalty for compliant insurance gone make sure the plan has coverage for it.
Good luck with this. Take care.

I just was thinking that you might contact surgeons offices you are considering and ask them what insurance they accept. Also ask the insurance company if they have any waiting periods or requirement's for implant surgery. I know in my state they require Tri mix injection treatment before they will authorize an implant surgery.
