may have to try and stay on till my implant
I may have to try and make the shots work till I find a way for an implant. I've tried trimix. I really do not like the shots personally. That's just me. I wish I was like so many of you who were ok with it. Im happy for you. I'm a very spontaneous person. I have had no results from the trimix. Up to the max dosage. Nothing. Soft erection (no foreplay). That's why my next moved would be the implant but I was wondering is that usually the end of the road? There's not much left is there?

Well, if the injections clearly don't work for you, as far as I know it's VED and constriction rings or implant. I might would consider trying a different uro.
R.R.P 2011 Mayo Jacksonville, Dr. M. Wehle. Not nerve sparing. C in margins. Radiation 2023, V.E.D, Viagra and PGE-1 (80mcg/ml) injections @ 8 - 14 units. Originally Edex20, then compounded PGE due to cost. Inject. 12 yrs. It works. Treasure coast of FL.

Is there something better than trimix?

There's Quadmix, of course. But don't fret too much about the implant road. I'm not yet on it, but from I've read here, the guys that get them are very pleased with the results.
ED worsened over 25 years, likely VL. Went through pills and injections, and results faded over time. Implant AMS 700CX, 21 cm, no RTE, on 6/3/24.

Keeping in mind I'm not a medical professional of any kind and these questions should be answered by a competent urologist, I'll share my layman understanding.
As for injections as to what is better, I may have opinions but I think your question is really what is best at giving a lasting satisfying erection. I don't think it works that way. It's going to be what is best for you specifically. That's something that has to be figured out between you and a hopefully interested, involved, competent doctor. There is mono-mix or alprostadil AKA PGE1, which I think is the only really FDA approved mix, often in the proprietary forms of Edex or Caverject. Then you move into the realm of alchemy or witchcraft with the various drug combinations ranging from bi-mix to tri-mix to quad-mix. The ratios of the mixes can vary wildly. Some version of quad-mix is, I think, usually considered the last hurrah in the injection journey. I realize that wasn't much help. I'm sorry.
If your injection technique is good and your doctor has tried all of the reasonable injection options, then I guess injections aren't going to work.
It is my unjustifiable opinion that in very many cases injection technique is an issue. That's probably fixable. Otherwise, I would think a bad venous leak is probably the issue, and injections aren't the solution for that problem, although for a milder leak injections combined with cock ring or a milder medical grade constriction ring my get you there.
You do need a doctor that is truly interested in helping you find a solution. Many are not. I personally don't have a great urologist that I feel confident would help resolve such an issue. Fortunately I had it pretty much figured out before I got him. I think he's good with other concerns I have.

Re: may have to try and stay on till my implant
Before moving to an implant, I asked my doctor to make sure I tried everything.
VED with constriction rings sort of worked but I didn't like the way my dick felt - kind of cold and spongey - and it was even less spontaneous than injections. It limited time, as well.
I got a new prescription for a "super" trimix, which increases the amount of the active meds in the mix. That worked to get me hard but I couldn't stay hard long enough for sex. It might be different for you. I had waited too long and my ED was too advanced, I guess.
Over the time I tried different formulas, I never had any real anxiety about doing injections, but I did have some failures occasionally. These were always due to me not getting the needle in the right way or the right place. Needle length, position, angle, etc., are all important. So as mentioned above, make sure you get the shot right. It also helped to have some extra stimulation, from myself or my wife. And mental stimulation also helped a lot.
If pills and shots don't work, as they didn't for me, an implant is probably the best choice. I know some guys use the VED/constriction rings for a long time, but I'm much, much happier with the implant. PM me if you want to discuss further.

What's the strength of your Trimix formula?
Typically guys max out at about 130-30-3, although I have seen some scripts at 150-30-3.
Before you give up make sure you have tried the most powerful Trimix possible up to 130-30-3. I'm a year older than you and using 130-30-3. Doesn't work as well as I'd like, and I have decided on an implant once I am elgibile for Medicare.
You should discuss his with your doctor, but another thing to try is using daily Cialis, or the cheaper generic form, Tadalafil. I currently take 20mg of Tadalafil each morning and sometimes inject Trimix before a sex event at night. Don't do this without talking with your doctor first. Most physicians are going to advise you not to do it because of the risk of a prolonged erection (priapism) lasting more than four hours. As for me, even with the pills and the injections, I have never had an erection lasting more than about 75 minutes, as my erectile dysfuction is pretty severe.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

Tadalafil probably my second favorite drug after Cialis. The only reason is that it lasts a bit less, but it's quite cheaper, so I sometimes take it. But it's important to buy it from official distributors. Here's my fav https://tadalift.net/.
Thank you ….Ill keep you posted
