New to Trimix
New to Trimix
Guys, this week my Uro prescribed me trimix. I wink have not tried it until this Thursday when I have another appointment with my Uro. Pills having worked in a year so this is the next step. I have High BP, i'm Type 2, High Cholesterol and overweight. My question is there any recommendation because i'm kinda scared of poking my penis. Is there any concern I should be aware of? My loving wife is very supportive, just that I fear of putting a needle in my dick. Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
Pay close attention to the directions and demonstration given by your doctor.
As for the actual sticking a needle in your dick, for most guys the idea of it is far worse than the actual act. For most guys the pain is minimal to non-existent. If there is much pain when depressing the syringe plunger, you're not in the correct spot. Adjust your depth.
For most guys there is little to be concerned about. Most men respond well to tri-mix. Initially, the biggest risk is priapism. For that reason your initial recommended dosage will probably be too small and it may take some experimentation to work out the proper dose. Be patient and enjoy the journey. Be lighthearted and upbeat about the learning process. Joke with your wife about it.
Ask your doctor what steps to take should an erection get toward priapism duration. He may prescribe an antidote just in case but most don't. He may suggest having Pseudoephedrine on hand. Ask your doctor.
I expect your first few dick sticks will be difficult. It's just the idea of it. You'll soon realize it's no big deal and the rewards will make the needle poking part irrelevant. You'll be fine.
Enjoy your new boner.

Thanks Bldoink
I ran across this forum, looking to educate me on what was the next step. My Uro is very knowledgeable and ensured me that it wasn't a big deal. I will being more educated once I start using the Trim-mix. Just a whole bunch of questions... Thanks

Re: New to Trimix
You've come to the right place. My wife is tired of hearing me rave about this forum.
As always, bldoink hits the right spot (pun intended)!
I've been on the Trimix journey for about a year and a half now. Still working to get the right mix, but it does work. When it didn't, it was because I didn't take the time to inject correctly. That is paramount to getting it to work, maybe more than the formula itself, IMHO.

ED worsened over 25 years, likely VL. Went through pills and injections, and results faded over time. Implant AMS 700CX, 21 cm, no RTE, on 6/3/24.
Re: New to Trimix
Just received my 1st RX, going in tomorrow (Thursday) for my first dose with my URO. My Rx contains: Prostaglandin 30MCG/ML, Papaverine 30MG/ML, Phentolamine 0.2MG/ML and Alprostadil. My question is that a OK dose for a person who is just starting with TriMix?

Re: New to Trimix
The combination you listed puzzles me a bit. First, prostaglandin and alprostadil are the same thing so I don't understand why both are listed. Second, the ratios of the quantities are somewhat different than the various Trimixs I have used. I usually think of the combination in the order of papeverine (in mg/mL), phentolamine (in mg/mL) and PGE-1 (in micrograms/mL). I started with 30-1-10, then moved to 30-2-20 and I am now using 30-5-50. The reason the first number is always 30 is because that is the maximum amount that will dissolve in the water. In my way of writing things, your mix would be 30-0.2-30 which is somewhat low on the phentolamine. Of course, the real determination is how much you inject. For me, using 30-5-50, 8 units does a good job. (In case you haven't run across units, 100 units is one milliliter). How much does your urologist suggest you inject?

Re: New to Trimix
As for your mix, the Alprostadil is the Prostaglandin, as in Prostaglandin E1 (PGE1).
Your mix does seem stronger than many starter mixes. That can be good as your mix may last longer if you can use less due to it's potency and thereby save money. Your first dose is in your doctor's office by him or under his supervision. If it's too strong he'll deal with it. Nothing to worry about.
Be relaxed on your visit if you can. Have an upbeat attitude and look for the humor of the situation. You can make crappy jokes to relieve the tension. They've probably heard them before but unless it's Nurse Ratched they'll chuckle with you and help keep the event upbeat and lighthearted.
Have fun! Be proud of your injection boner. If you leave while still boned out, smile and hold your head as high as your dick as you leave.

Edit to add: Surfer dude is correct that the Phentolamine component is lower than what is most commonly seen, AFAIK. But that isn't a bad thing, just different. Some papers I've read also suggest that component also entails the most tissue damage risk. Maybe that's your doctors perspective.
He is also correct that the most common way the ingredients are displayed is (Papaverine, Phentolamine, PGE1). However, there doesn't seem to be any rule on that as other methods of describing the script aren't uncommon.

Re: New to Trimix
OK, you originally misstated your script. You originally said you had what most would state as: 30 / .2 / 30 but your vial states it as 30 / .2 / 10 with the 10 being the PGE-1 which would be a more common starting strength although the Phentolamine is still lower than whats more common. Nothing particularly here IMHO. I gave the mix strength in the more common format of Papaverine / Phentolomine / PGE-1, not in the order listed on your label.
The vial label, at least what I can read of it, essentially states the ingredients twice. The first, on top, states the actual med contents by weight per volume. The second lists the ingredients in total including the hydrating solution (water) and alcohol. Oddly, when listing the PGE-1 they use one name on top (Prostglandin but missing the E-1) and then use another name on the bottom (Alprostadil). For the sake of trivia, there are several types of Prostaglandin but the type we're interested in for ED matters is the E-1.
