NeedHelp-
When my first MD suggested an implant after a diagnosis of Peyronies I looked at him as if he had two heads! I was around 40 at the time and couldn’t FATHOM having to get an implant at such a young age. Three urologists later, and almost 4 years, I had exhausted my options.
My AHA! moment came after a black tie benefit with my wife. We went out dressed to the nines! We drank ourselves silly, but kept our wits about us. And then we danced all night. At one point a young lady came up to us and asked us how long we had been married. I replied 14 years. She looked at us in amazement and said,” and you guys still manage to have this much fun with each other?” When it was time to drive home, I had my hand on my wife’s thigh and she invited me to explore. The whole ride home was amazing as you can imagine!!! We got home and, of course, I was not able to perform. It was at this moment exactly that I said,” enough is enough!” My wife wanted to be with me and I knew the only way to do that was get an implant.
My point is, because you are not ready now does not mean that you will not be ready indefinitely. You have to do the surgery if and when you are 100% ready. This doesn’t mean you will have reservations or be scared, you will just be ready. This peace will fall over you and the day you book your surgery, your anxiety will lessen. The healing process may take longer than expected, you may have some speed bumps, but it will be worth it. You will be able to perform. Better than you have and the struggle will be over.
Wait for your AHA moment. It may take a while, but when it happens, you will know that it is now time. In the mean time, stay here. Amongst this community of brothers. Pick our brains. Lye in the wings and just learn. And... please, when your time has come, tell others of your hesitation so that it becomes a story so others can learn from it as well.
