I would love to go in sooner but with my work schedule and living in a Bakersfield which is a 3 hour drive it makes it difficult to arrange.

If you are local to USC you might consider getting an opinion from Dr Mills at UCLA. https://www.uclahealth.org/jesse-mills He impressed me as being a very capable doctor. He is easy to schedule, accepts lots of insurance plans, and implants only AMS.

Your signature says you had Dr. Eid... Am I reading something wrong? :)

The appointment is on the 29th so I will try to get ahold of another dr first to get their opinion. This was my biggest fear of getting the implant is that I would be shorted. My insurance is anthem blue cross and is decent. The first surgery covered most of my out of pocket for the year so hopefully it wouldn’t cost me much for the revision. For the guys with a lgx how har does the tips go up when deflated? Another thing that is weird is that I didn’t have marks on the head after surgery so I assume he did not pull the implant through like everyone else.

Pulling the tips fully up into the tunica is standard procedure (described in the AMS operating instruction which you can find on line). Sometime the holes used for the thread used to pull the tips up are not visible, but most of the time there is some evidence in the first day or two (two small scabs unless someone washed them off thoroughly) but that goes away fast.

If he took a shortcut and did not pull the tips up, but is depending on the implant to push the tips up into the glans, he is taking (my non-medically trained opinion) a chance with your outcome to save a simple step. How many implants or other operations did he do that day? What time was your surgery? Did he have a tee time soon after? Was the AMS representative in the O.R. for your operation?

Did you look like you had a snake bite on the head of your penis for a few days after surgery?? :)

No I did not notice an marks whatsoever on the penis the day after when they deflated me. I thought that was weird and thinking back I should have spoken up then.

I see the problem. I live out towards Gorman. I feel for you, but I am sure they will make it right. Had a friend that had an operation at USC on his throat. He somehow pulled the whole thing apart during the night while on heavy meds. They ruled the problem as an accident and from there out, not a single penny was charged for all the work and 4 more day stay in the hospital. Just a bitch that you need a do over. You may ask if Dr Boyd ever comes back in. He is still listed as staff. He was the go to man on the west coast if you had a screw up from someone else. I was going to DR Eid, but interviewed Boyd to see who I had nearby in case I had a problem. He was so cool that I just had him do mine.

My snake bite scars pretty much disappered by the 2nd day but were noticeable on day one. The head was about all i could see when i got out of operating room. But i could tell they were there for sure right after surgery. Good luck. My thoughts are with you.

Just spent 6 hours in car myself today traveling to cincinnati for my 2 week follow up. Not the most comfortable ride for sure.

You guys must be lucky. I'm on day 226 and my snake bites have turned into snake eyes, 2 whitish marks that are still clearly visible. But that might have something to do with my keloids? Not sure.

This might be as simple as adding an RTE and pulling the tips forward. I know you are focused on this. After my first day cycling, my incision opened up and months later never healed up correctly. They had to go back in, clean it all out and move my pump. I was so frustrated. The best advise I can give you is most issues can be fixed with a good surgeon. If this guy can’t do it, someone can. Just ask the likes of Doug, Larry, etc. it looks dim now, but I assure you, it will be worth it. My doc and I call them speed bumps. Don’t lose faith brother!

Thanks guys I appreciate all the support. We will see what the dr says on Friday. I talked to the Boston Medical Patient Liason for USC and she confirmed that the implant tips are supposed to be 1/2 way into the glands even when deflated.
