Maverick, why was the surgery complicated and what is the reason for the incision up the length of the penis?
60 yrs old. Gradually worsening ED for 10 years. Pills and trimix not working well anymore. Will need an implant in the near future.

Robert,

This was a second revision. Both corpora had scar tissue, the right side had significant scar tissue.
During the first revision the doc could not get the right cylinder inplace because of the scar tissue and did a distil corporalplasty. Some how the surgeon ended up not getting either cylinder in the corpora. When pumped up the cylinder buldged out and cause pain. It hurt all the time.

During the second revision the surgeon did a distil corporalplasty on both sides. Also did something to help keep the cylinder tips in place. The scar on the underside of my dick is from a proximal corporalplasty. This surgeon believes that my original implant and the implant from the first revision was oversized.

An implant surgery, if everything goes right can take as little as 30 minutes. My second revision was over 3 hours.

I think all is good. No restrictions at this point. Finally deflated yesterday, and today my dick is feeling better. 7 weeks is to long to be inflated.

Flaccid feels and looks good.
6.5 erect 1/2 inch smaller than first revision and original implant. Maybe closer to original size.
New implant is a CX 21cm 2 Rte
Scaring on the sides are good, the back side not as good, but okay.

It’s been a rough road this last year, but I am lucky that I had the time and resources to see this through. If there are any changes I will give an update.

Thanks guys for the encouragement.
Thanks Doug and Bbob.

Mav;
It looks great now but OMFG it looked sooooooo painful at the beginning... Out of curiosity, why did he have to implant it that way? That method is so invasive. :(

Larry ,

This a second revision. The only way to get the cylinder into the very scared corpora was with a distil and proximal corporplasty. The large incision on the back is from the proximal. They both had to be done on the right and left side.

The first revision the the cylinder were placed outside the corpora. At least that what the doc that did the second revision said. I don’t think the first doc intended to place out side the corpora.

I think the first doc was in over his head. This doc does a couple hundred implants a year. He is mentioned on Frank Talk many times. I could only find good stuff nothing negative.

I'm glad everything worked out for you in the end. What does your partner think of it?? :)

Larry

She was not interested in looking at it when had stitches. Otherwise not a big deal. The scars on the sides are almost gone. The scar on the underside looks worse in the pictures than it is and continues to look better.

As far as pain that was more internal. It has also been my experience when I am inflated for long periods of time the pain I feel is constant dull pain from inflation pressure. It kind of numbs the other pain.

The first surgeon will go unnamed. He is not the very top tier, but he does somewhere around 200 a year and all his reviews are good. My outcome was not great, but I think I am an outlier.

Second revision was done by Dr Brian Christine. He is in Birmingham, Al. I believe he a good surgeon.

First and second revision were more complicated than they expected. Probably a challenge for most surgeon.
