VED Prior to having an Implant?

Postby Bailey » Sat Apr 27, 2019 9:21 am

I have decided to have an Implant this summer,& was told I might benefit by buying a VED to use prior to my surgery. They said it would improve my penis size in order to have a better outcome. My surgeon never mentioned it during my office visit, so I’m not sure if this is the correct thing to do. I have gone about 20 years with ED, so I’m sure I have lost some length. Any advice you guys have regarding this topic would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Bailey

Bailey,
You and I will be twins. Mine is June 19th . You can buy an effective cheap VED on amazon for less than $20 . Buy 2 , the pump does not last long.
Before that measure yourself to see where you are. If that length satisfies you then just use the pump to engorge and soften your tissue. Otherwise you may need to use short bursts of pressure over an hour or so's time every day and night.
Good luck to us both

I have read almost all of the articles about VED use on F.T. and have recently had an implant. I decided to use the ved anyway. The doctor never told me to use it or not to use it. I didn,t ask.
The benefit from using it according to the articles were getting back to the original size. The other benefit was it might lesson the pain of the surgery. I can not say for sure that it absolutley lessened the pain of surgery but when you think about it what does it hurt to use it? To be honest in my case I had way less pain from the implant surgery than I anticipated.
The other factor was the doctor I had must have known what he was doing. My thought right now if you decided to use the VED then you will have 2 advantages on your side. What will it hurt in the end?

Disappointed 2,
Thanks for the reply. I’m going to go ahead and buy one. Like you said it doesn’t hurt to try it, and hopefully it will help. I’m looking at buying the one I found online called Encore. It works both manually or battery for $125.00. Read a few posts that said they were happy with it. Which implant did you go with the AMS or the Coloplast? Bailey

Hi DougAnd, Thanks for the Amazon $20.00 tip on pumps. I didn’t realize you can get 1 for that price. Do you mind telling me which one you bought as they have a lot of pumps for sale, and I would probably buy the wrong one? I see you have your surgery date of June 19th. I have a call in for the girl who does the scheduling, & hope to get around that date for my surgery. I’ll post my surgery date when I get it. Good luck to both of us is right on. We’ll have to keep in touch on our progress. Are you getting the AMS or the Coloplast? Thanks, Bailey

Bailey,
On Amazon put in Beginner penile pumps then when they come up sort cheapest to most expensive. You will see a bunch by the same company that almost look identical. I've tried 3 different ones. Like the one that has a pump (not the squeeze ball) and 3 different sizes of comfort seal rings. I always use the largest ring. Unless you shave your hair you will need to jelly up and submerge the base in your tub or it will leak and lose pressure. After surgery it's great can walk around the house with it hanging one ( for you surfers) Then back comes the hair and in the tub I go. I have an AMS LGX right now but plan on trading it in for the AMS CX. I don't need to grow any longer. It is time to just stabilize use and enjoy.
Larry has pointed out that AMS has an 18 mm model but no one seems to get that. Not sure why? Larry was your LGX 18 mm cylinders? I think Doctors are afraid to use that size because the tubes are so very soft it's harder to get in. :| Kind of like I was before my implant  So for larger girth they use coloplast. I have no idea what goes through a surgeon's mind. I was over 6 2/3 inches around the night before surgery. They easily dilated me to 20 mm but gave me a 12 mm LGX instead of the 18 mm. I'm glad they did but we never talked about girth just length. Unless you bring it up to your Doc he may not even consider it important. Don't know if you want both length and girth but if you do now's the time to tell him cause after is too late.

Do a search on FT for Dr. Dineen. He wrote a article based on a VED study. The study was started because several complaints about a lost of length after an IPP.
You can search for me and the VED protocol. I wrote several FT posts on my experiences using a VED pre op and post op. A link to the paper is in my posts.
I also listed the pump I bought on Amazon, LeLux, Maxi Series. Comes with a gauge. A good fitting
tube is a necessity.

BTW From the study it showed that there was no loss of length with an IPP. It appears that most people complain of loss of length did not know their pre length in inches. However with VED protocol they knew what it was before and afterwards. As my signature says I was pre op length in six months.

I like the cheap pump also. It has a place where 2 fingers pull the pump plunger. I found a silicone ring by Calxotics that makes it more comfortable and seals nice. All bought on Amazon.

For what it's worth ...
Post prostate surgery I was left with a small little-boy penis: cute perhaps but not useful. I was much surprised at how much it had apparently shrunk while I was under the ether. Having fully planned to go implant as soon as possible, on the recommendation of the implant urologist I gobbled down Cialis/viagra and went expensive penis pump, the idea being to avoid atrophy as best I could.
The pills did from time to time provoke a modest short-lived thickening; the pump did enable me to engorge fully to adult size. As sex aids both were absolutely fucking useless. Time over I would certainly do both again, but gone with a cheaper pump, and, as I did, get implanted within a few months of prostate removal.

Hi,
I actually just talked to my doctor about this today. He recommended using a VED for 4-6 weeks to try to get back to my original size. After that there isn't much use to keep using it and you shouldn't see any improvements beyond that for getting back length. I wish I would have heard about this a little sooner because now I will need to reschedule my surgery so as to give it a full 6 weeks with a VED.
He recommended Encore and Gesiva Medical by Tom Harper
Gesiva if you want to spend the extra money.
Hope this helps.
