What about the head?

Postby Antipsychoticssuck » Wed May 08, 2019 3:24 pm

I have read that after the implant surgery the head will remain soft, I was wondering what were your experiences with that and does it effect sex in any drastic way? I imagine it wouldn't make too much of a difference but was still wondering what the forum had to say on that

Thanks

The head consists of Corpus Spongiosum tissue. The implant goes into the Tunica Albuginea where the Corpus Cavernosum Tissue is (and in E.D. not working right).

As a metaphor, think of a tire - one that has a leak that you can fix by putting in an inner tube (if you remember those).

The Spongiosum (penis head) is the tread. The Tunica and Cavernosum (erectile part of the penile shaft) is the body of the tire and the air pressure that keeps it stiff enough to support the car. The implant is the inner tube the keeps a tire inflated if it has leaks.

The tread (your penile head) is unaffected by the body of the tire (the implant-filled Tunica/Cavernosum) because different blood-flow mechanisms serve the Cavernosum and the Spongiosum.

Your tread is not very effective when your tire is uninflated. But if you had good tread to begin with, you will have good tread after your tire can hold air again. If you had worn-out tread before implant, you will have worn-out tread after you get an implant.

Long story short, head soft before - head soft after. Tumescent/engorged before - tumescent/engorged after.

The implant has no effect on the head (except to help you to get the head inside your partner).

I was told years ago by a doctor talking to a prostate cancer survivor group meeting that I attended that the glans engorgement is a completely different "system" from the shaft erection. Following a prostatectomy, he said, some guys have the glans engorgement return and some guys don't. (I was fortunate enough to get the glans function to return.)

Thanks for the insights lost sheep and david_R . I wonder what would happen to me after I would get an implant. My head generally stays a bit soft unless I reach full hardness, which doesn't occur too often. If I had sex with an implant, I'm guessing my head would stay relatively soft for the most part during sex and only stiffening up at periods of time. Does anyone have experience with that here? I mean it is better than no sex at all but I feel it could some sort of effect on sex quality

I guess every person is different, but on my second revision the cylinders were not pulled in all the way. I could feel the tip of the cylinders down low on the gland. But I never had a soft head when pumped up. It was solid just like a normal erection. On the third revision because of something that failed, the surgeon pulled the cylinders into the gland where the tips are about the center of the gland. Everything works perfect now. :o

Thanks for the reply RayChez. I'm glad everything is working perfect with you. I'm also glad to hear forum members have been having good luck in regards to their heads engorging after the implant. Definitely makes me feel hopeful. I think my tip may get harder than I realized because the rest was just saddenly soft when I was assesing .

My glans engorges when I am aroused like it did before prostatectomy and E.D. (It's "just" the shaft that needs help getting hard -- hence the implant.)

My glans went out years ago with the rest of my erection. VED has helped make it stand up but it never really swells up nice and firm. I'm sure that it affects sex how could it not. Does it make it unenjoyable? Not in the least.

David_R that is very interesting that your glands became responsive after the implant. I'm real happy for you and hope the same can happen from me. I am checking my glands with self stimulation and it seems hit or miss, sometimes they are engorging and sometimes they are staying soft. I hope mine can have a full recovery as yours. Thanks for the input

I see DougAnd . Definitely gives me hope that in case my glands remain inconsistent in their response that I will still be able to have completely satisfying sex with an implant anyway. I'm guessing even if my glands are generally fine at first they will still eventually become unresponsive with enough time on the antipsychotics . And i definitely need to take them for my illness so I'll just take the cards I am dealt and run with it

My penis head does not engorge after prostatectomy nor after penile implant. My cylinders are placed properly and when inflated, they are in the midst of head. In deflated state, they are at coronal level or slightly below corona.
I tried talking 5 mg of Cialis which produces small effect on my penis head but is less then 50% engorged. Viagra 50 mg has no effect on my penis head.
