Shortages of Bimix at Pharmacy

So today I went to fill my prescription and was told that Bimix has been backordeed and won’t be available at the earliest until next Tuesday. Apparently there is a shortage of the drugs. Has this happened to anyone before? My Dr office told me they are starting to not provide samples for testing at their offices anymore. Is it possible this is being done to raise the cost due to availability? Either way my holiday weekend just got blown up on the spot. FML...
