What steps to take after bad surgery?

Postby Ruktitan » Fri May 24, 2019 7:41 pm

Initial implant may 2018. I complained cylinders were too short and my penis would fold completely at the top and was told it was my anatomy. I had to get a second opinion and they agreed and upsized by 2cm in december 2018. I have just been for my follow up appointment for the second time complaining that the cylinders are still too shorts. And now my pump is upside down and sticking out. It does not move and I have been trying for months. I was just told that the cylinders are not short and thats just how it is. I argued that thats what the first surgeon said and you managed to fit another 2cm so he was wrong? They are colleages at the same hospital. They told me the implant is functional and theres nothing they can do.
What steps can I now take? Legal? 3rd opinion? Im confused.

Your anatomy? Just what is it about your anatomy? Are they trying to tell you your tunica not extend into your glans? I assume your erections prior to E.D. did not flop over.

Yours has been a troubled journey (I have read your previous posts) and I have every sympathy for you. I do not know what recourse you have where you live, but I would keep pressing. There is no excuse in any medical system for suboptimal outcomes when the process is so simple as the insertion of a mechanical device (assuming you have no underlying deformities, in which case your surgeons should be able to be very specific about what the problems are).

Carry on, regardless.

Just wow. Where to start? How to advise?
First, is there enough room in your scrotum for the pump? I can't think of why it would rollover except for lack of room or the tubing was twisted when it was spliced. Should be easy to fix but getting it fixed might be a trick. Just guessing, you've had one revision already. Betting they will balk big time on a second revision. Btw, does it pump up?
Second, just because longer cylinders fit at the first revision doesn't mean that longer will fit again. Are the cylinder tips in the glans? How is your erect length compared to your stretched pre op size? I've read several members post that full length takes some work & maybe a year to get.
Calm down, take some deep breaths. Your pump problem seems obvious. How are you troubleshooting the length issue? Let's work through this logically.

I am following this closely, I have had 2 surgery’s I have severe pyronies the surgeon did surgery with no pre-op testing (ultra sound ) etc. got in over his head and admitted after the first surgery this is not something he does often , no problem he can fix it. He said. I am now scheduled for surgery with the best peyronies. Surgeon in Houston . I have never considered any type of legal action against anyone but some of these guys are. Arrogant, cocky. Mine told me sure I can fix it have you seen my website ? Surgeon in Houston says i am very high risk due to the 2 prior surgeries , I-have grafts, Plication and a tissue aneurism caused by him cutting through trying to dilate distally! interested in the reply’s here ,, First surgery. 09/24/2018 second surgery 02/06/2019. So sorry to hear Wade1958. Some doctors are legends in their own minds. I wish some of them taken some humility classes.

Read the history. Worthwhile

Anyone replying to Ruktitan's dilemma might want to read his other threads, which give quite a bit of detail and history that will give you a better overall picture. His is a story almost as bad as alibaba's.

start with this one, and search for the others.

I’d get a third and fourth opinion from other surgeons. I wouldn’t let the last 2 near my cock.

I gotta commend you for your attitude, you're handling this disappointment pretty well. The problems so far are all fixable and this will all be behind you with no lasting harm done, especially at your age.

I can only suggest what I would do, and I agree with ED2013 about getting other opinions. Get your surgical reports together along with any pictures, maybe in a Dropbox account for easy access. Then schedule video or phone consultations with at least two well regarded implant specialists like Eid, Karpman, Kramer, etc and see what they recommend for you. Don't make any decisions about a revision until you get those other consultations. I wish you could stay in the UK for this, but that seems to be a problem after the two substandard surgeries.

What kind of recourse does a patient have for this type of thing in the UK?

Wow thanks for all the replies. Yeah ive had a really bad time with it, and every time its 5-6 months between appointments, i didnt even get to see the surgeon my appointment was with. I just saw one of his staff. Its the NHS so you literally have no say in the matter. They brush you off like its nothing. The glans is still floppy but it has defnitely improved with the revision. Before it didnt even feel like a penis. I can still stretch the penis and the cylinders are not at the tip. I have watched so many of Kramers videos of how he dilates and fixes other surgeons problems. Im so embarressed to have sex now as theres no hiding this new pump. The tubing is so long and bent up underneath.
The two surgeons are supposed to be the best in the UK. Theres not many others to get second opinions from and I cant afford to get this done privately. Its around £15000 here.
