Re: Nervousness
No doubt the first is the hardest to do. Just remember, that hard "stick" results in a hard dick.

Re: Nervousness
I give myself injections of insulin. It was a little disconcerting at first. Try this:
Alcohol swab a spot on your belly in a fatty part (about 3 inches to either side of your navel should do) and insert the needle (do not inject any of the medicine). How comfortable are you with that?
Then do the same to your penis in the recommended place and inject the medicine.
Failing that, go to your urologist and ask for coaching to relieve your nervousness. Probably the nurse will be able to help.
Once you have done it and seen the results, the benefits will overwhelm the fears.

Re: Nervousness
I was nervous the first few times. Practice by yourself without the pressure of needing to please your partner. The first time I injected I felt like I was 21. Enjoy Sunday solo till you get use to injecting yourself. YouTube has some good videos for diabetics on learning to inject.

Re: Nervousness
I agree and will repeat:
Ask the doc to show you how to give the injection. I'm frankly stunned that you didn't get the first shot in the doctor's office. There's a reason that they usually do that--the doc needs to see exactly what happens and what doesn't. Yes, it's dodgy walking out thru the waiting room with a hard-on, but the joy of the erection erases all that.
Giving yourself a shot--especially into your favorite body part--does seem creepy. The reward is worth it. Hard task, hard dick.
Please don't give up. Hard times!

Get everything prepped. Pick spot according to directions. Look more closely and pick a specific spot that avoids obvious veins. lightly touch dick skin with needle tip while not making any commitment to go further. Notice that there really isn't hardly any pain from the needle tip. Press on the syringe a bit and notice that the needle goes in fairly easily with very little noticeable sensation. Realize that you by now have the needle almost all the way in and it's been very minimally painful. Check depth and if at directed depth try gently depressing the plunger If it doesn't depress easily or produces noticeable pain, go a bit deeper and try depressing again. Hey, you've done it. Remove the needle, do the recommended press on the spot with your alcohol pad and wait for the boner.

Re: Nervousness
When I speak about my implant at ED seminars with urologists I always mention my previous failed treatments. When I get to injections I say I was GLAD they didn't work! I add that "the hesitation was unbearable" while doing a visual of my shaking hand trying to stab a needle into the microphone. It gets lots of laughs.... okay, maybe ya have to be there!

Dave,
I'll grant humor may be found in your post. And I'll gladly praise your support for men seeking information and support regarding implant issues. However, I fail to see where your post is in any way helpful to a new poster, a fellow ED sufferer seeking help and/or support in trying to find if injections will offer him a satisfying option to his situation. Some sort of encouragement would seem more appropriate, that or silence.

Re: Nervousness
Have no fear....I'm very nervous with each prick.....especially when they never work. I think my dick has a mind of his own. He says, you prick me and I will show you what not working is all about. The guy feels better when we pump him. He likes that and works each and every time. The Dr. ordered some higher octane to try....maybe this will work better. But to stick yourself in the dick and no results.....Now that's painful.
