BioFreeze (cold spray) Before Injecting?

Postby Cigar56 » Tue May 14, 2019 12:58 pm

I still hate needles. I am thinking of applying a cold spray before inserting the needle. Yeah, I don't even like that one-second "pinch" of pain when injecting. Has anybody else experimented with a cold spray or other topical to mask the initial discomfort?
I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

What I know about a product I think is the product you are thinking of is that it relieves the discomfort of muscle pain and uses some aromatic ingredients that might sting worse.

I think I would try a product with benzocaine (like "Numbzit", "Oragel" or others intended for relieving the pain of infant's teething).

Note that I am not any sort of medical professional and know nothing of what trace remnants might do to a vagina. Also, there is a saying:

Believe only half of what you see and one quarter of what you hear. That goes double for anything you get from unattributed sources on the internet.

But products safe for the inside of an infant's mouth is probably OK for your penis or your lover's vagina, mouth or whatever.

Thanks Lost Sheep. I have experience with cold spray when I get knee injections. The spray feels ice cold and you wouldn't even know the needle had been inserted were in not for the physical pressure of the doctor pressing deep into the joint.

However, before going that route for my trimix injections I am going to try numbing he injection site with an ice cube and then injecting. That could do the trick to and also save a few dollars over buying the spray.

Does your Doctor have any concerns with the chemicals of the spray entering your body? I know the amounts would be small, but I just wondered, especially about the penis' cavernosum.

For me the pinch at the skin is not usually the problem. It is when you hit a sensitive spot (nerve?) on the way towards the tunica that can take your breath away for a second til you probe on thru it. I don't think any numbing will help with that. But that's just because I dig in slowly -- I don't JAB it in all at once. But it's the way I do it and that's that.

Good question, Sheep. For now I have decided just to numb the area with an ice cube. I did buy the Biofreeze, but one drawback is the menthol smell of the spray which lingers for a bit. Not a huge issue except for receiving oral sex. I mean, can't give wifey yet another reason for stopping after 30 seconds, right? :D

Holy shit. Is this what most docs offer, a 25G? Any problems going to 31G 5/16" and not a 1/2 inch, on my own? Coming up in July.

No way would I use a 25G. I use the 31G 6/16" but some, maybe most, guys like the 1/2" and many use 29 or 30G. IMHO the Doc was being an ass and just used a 25 for his own convenience. The 5/16s work fine for me but for most guys (guessing here) they will have to bury it all of the way and possibly even indent the skin with the plastic tip of the syringe. I do. I'm sure the 31G is easier to bend but I've never had issues with that. However, if using an auto injector I think I read that 1/2" is minimal and 29G is advised to avoid bending but I don't use an auto injector and never have.

As for switching to 31s, I'm going to always emphasize that I'm not a medical professional of any kind and that should always be considered. You should always consult your doctor and follow his/her advice. That said, in my feeble mind I don't see what could possibly be wrong in switching to a finer needle for the sake of comfort. But then I don't know shat!
