About to start BiMix
I used to do Trimix but had issues with scarring and pain. Urologist I'm seeing now said that Bimix would likely not result in as much scarring. Thoughts?
Re: About to start BiMix
I sorta gave my non-professional opinion on this in your companion post in the PE sub-forum. It's my understanding that normally the alprostadil (PGE-1) component of tri-mix, the ingredient generally missing from bi-mix, is the ingredient least likely to cause scarring. However, it's also the ingredient most likely to cause pain. In otherwords I don't know why the bi-mix would produce less scarring unless you were having some harmful reaction to the PGE-1 ingredient of tri-mix. However if you are one of those that suffers greatly from alprostadil pain, and a fair percentage do, then yes the bi-mix should be less likely to cause pain. Remember, I'm not a medical professional and my opinion is likely worthless.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I was on quadmix before implant. That burns a little while injecting but never really had any problems with scarring.

Yes, and thank you for the replies. I was a bit puzzled that doc prescribed bi-mix after I got scarring from tri-mix. It is my impression that papverine is the major culprit as far as scarring goes. He also had advised me to not inject anymore. Puzzled. I don't want more fibrosis, because I'm thinking a prosthesis is on the horizon. I don't want to preclude the procedure with way busted up corpora.

If papaverine is the culprit in scarring then what about a bi-mix of phentolamine and alphrostadil? Is that done?
Re: About to start BiMix
Unless you're having a reaction to one of the other two drugs, it's usually the alprostadil that is the culprit with the pain. Normally, at least in the past, mono-mix of alprostadil was the starting mix, usually in the form of Edex or Caverject. I wouldn't normally see a down side to trying a mono-mix of alprostadil, what I use, except that you stated your doctor is telling you not to inject. I'm not a medical professional and I always recommend following your doctor's advice. Maybe a VED with associated medical grade rings are your solution pending Medicare eligibility.
