Hi,
I hope to get some help and advice from my fellow forum members. After using oral medications for years, it's now time to move to Trimix.
So here's my issue. My Insurance will not cover the cost of the medication - NO PROBLEM - don't mind paying for it myself. So what's the issue? The Urologists that are "in network" want to charge $ 200-$ 250 - to just see me (and probably administer the first dose of Trimix) The front office won't even give me a $ figure.
So Someone suggested that I contact compounding pharmacies - so that they could recommend a urologist in the Dallas TX area. Most of them wrote to say that they could not ship to TX, and they couldn't recommend a urologist in Dallas. Finally I speak to Olympia Pharmacy in San Antonio. They have a package for a "phone consultation" and a 10 ML Trimix for $ 299.00.
OK - so what about that - It's just that I am NOT OK with just a phone consult. Why is that? : Because I am a first time user, and actually want to see /have a urologist administer Trimix the first time.
So what do I want help with? Is there anyone here that can recommend/ name a Urologist that can administer Trimix and also send a prescription to a pharmacy?
By the way, Empower Pharmacy in Houston charges $ 87.00 for a 10 ML of Trimix. Thanks for your replies and advice, in advance!!

Dowmass,
I'm sorry you're having such difficulties finding good quality medical care. It amazes me how many doctors, even Uros, are ignorant on the subject. My current Uro is marginal at best. My original Uro, who I liked a lot personally, wasn't real helpful either. He prescribed my first injections, Edex, but gave me no instructions other than what was in the box. Thank goodness for the internet, that and some trial and error.
Unfortunately I can't help with your struggle to find medical care. I certainly hope you have success with your search.
When my Uro retired I just used my GP. I went to my GP, who knew nothing on the subject, showed her an Edex box and asked her to write me a generic script for the same ingredients but a much stronger mix so I could take it to a compounder. I've continued the practice with her replacement. I then got a new Uro who didn't seem real knowledgeable on the topic so I continued working with my GP as by then I had it figured out to my satisfaction. Someday I'd like to find a good competent Uro knowledgeable about such stuff.
Point being, if necessary, you can figure it out on your own. If you have a good GP they may be able to help you as well or better than a Uro, if they're interested. However they most likely won't have much experience injecting a dick. That's where the internet can help. Video's and even this forum. Just remember internet forum advice isn't guaranteed to be accurate or even safe. You may have to do your own research and bring it to your doctor. Some will appreciate that if your sources appear legit. Doctors advice should always be sought and followed.
I sorry for such a crappy response. I hope someone in your area can give you more useful and practical advice.

I live in the Dallas, TX area and have a great uro named Dr. Joseph LaManna III. His office is off Hampton in south Dallas. His office is not impressive, but he is a great doctor and will take lots of time with you if needed. His waiting room is always full and expect to wait a while (because he takes time with his patients). He caught my prostate cancer and saved my life. Has sent me to specialists when other problems came up. Also recommended an out-of-state compounding pharmacy for the Stendra that I wanted to take. Give him a call at 214-330-5281.
Prostate cancer age 65 with PSA 5.8. Biopsy Oct 2010. Gleason score of 7, 3+4 with perineural invasion. Stage II, T2cNXMX.
Jan-Feb 2011 radiation. Palladium-103 seed implant March 2011 (55 implants). Lupron treatment from Dec 2010 to Aug 2011 (8 months).

A very good compounding pharmacy that's based in TX and does a large mail-order business is Talon. They're based in San Antonio.
Eugene, Oregon, USA. Born 1941. Married 1968. ED since mid-1990s. Began trimix January 2014. Dosage gradually increased over time. Added cock ring in 2016. After dosage reached 30 units, switched to quad mix in May 2018. On blood pressure meds.
Re: Need Help with Trimix prescription in Dallas TX Area
Look for a Dr that treats ED as primary specialty. Sometimes they are called something like "Men's Clinics". The one I go to in VA doesn't take insurance. The cost of a bottle of Trimix - that comes from a nearby compounding pharmacy is $225. But you should be able to find a compounding pharmacy somewhere in the US that ships overnight. It will come in a small cooler because it has to be kept cold.
59. ED from prostate removal surgery in 2018. Low doses of Trimix worked fine but usually gave a painful erection. Sildenafil - hit and miss but caused headaches for 8-12 hours. AMS-700CX 21 cm cylinder placed on 2-22-22.
