Update on implant operation

So after being scheduled to have my implant operation on the 02/05/19 but it being cancelled on the day because of too high blood sugars (type 1 diabetic). Was given another date of the 27/06/19 to reschedule but was contacted by the NHS last week saying they had to cancel that operation date because they don’t have an anaesthetist to cover that day. What a joke!
Been given the date of 08/08/19 for the next date they can see me.
Getting so pissed off with the NHS now! Would go private if I could afford it which I could if I wanted too I suppose but not sure I’m willing to spend quite a lot of my own money on it when I pay my taxes etc.
Has anyone else had similar experiences with the NHS? I understand the process and things take time etc but this is becoming ridiculous now. Trying to remain optimistic but it’s frustrating.
Will go off my nut if my next operation was to get cancelled but hopefully nothing goes wrong.

My experience with the NHS has been below standard for sure. When first being referred to treat my ED I was cancelled on, unnecessary repeat appointments due to missed hospital notes and also my consultant delayed treatment as he didn't believe my ED was organic in nature. After two year I went to PALS and then to an ombudsman, I was then kindly refereed to a specialist ( I was diagnosed with venous leak) and am now after 3 years in the NHS care, still waiting for my implant which is due (I've been told) within the next two months. I tell you, learning patience is difficult when you faced with adversity at every turn. If I could go private, I would but I trust in the NHS to put my health first, I know some people who work within the service who genuinely want to help.

What you’ve experienced sounds all too similar to what I have. Yeah learning patience is defiantly something you learn from going through this experience. Reply to my DM bud

I did not have any of the problems you have had. After seeing the consultant at Northampton Hospital and having the usual examination and blood tests, I was referred to Leicester General ( Northampton do not do implants ). There I saw Mr Summerton. He examined me, told me that I was a suitable candidate for an implant but warned me that as a non urgent case I might have to wait several months. In practice I waited only 8 weeks. Superb care in hospital and an almost pain free experience. My only gripe is that I would have chosen an AMS LGX. Mr Summerton only uses the CX model. However, now some 15 months later the implant works perfectly and has rejunevated our sex life. Initially I had lost about 1 inch but with regular cycling I have recovered about 1/2 an inch. I do not think that I could have had a better experience if I had paid £15k privately. Thank you NHS.
