Coloplast vs AMS re: Length Reduction
Re: Coloplast vs AMS re: Length Reduction
I not gay but if my penis looks like yours after my surgery I'll be jumping for joy. Whoever did your surgery did a great job.
Re: Coloplast vs AMS re: Length Reduction
Mike, I dont think people are expecting more length than they had originally just from a larger implant, but I believe its a known fact that the bigger AMS implants have the ability to expand LENGTH into "what u have", whereas a Coloplast only has the ability to extend WIDTH into "what u have"

Re: Coloplast vs AMS re: Length Reduction
I understand I guess certain people post that they have gained length after surgery. I do understand that if they had a curve like mine it may look like they have gained. I just want back what I have
Re: Coloplast vs AMS re: Length Reduction
Some people report that they've gained meaning they gained back some or all that they had lost to ED. Looking for a larger penis is a fool's game. Getting a penis that will get & stay hard is the goal.

I don't know if this is true but it sound like it could be...something called erosion when the implant was over-sized and the tips cam out through the tip of the penis. Anyone hear or know if this has happened.
The thought of that keeps me from complaining about the 1/2 inch I lost from Peyronies. My wife has adjusted and enjoys to "stamina"...hehehe!

Erosion was a greater danger with the non-inflating implants (they stay the same size perpetually, thus press into the glans 24 hours a day). Improvement (principally taking more care) in measuring techniques (e.g., sizing) in the past decade or so has reduced the incidence of erosion through the glans. Experience and training of implanting surgeons are of paramount importance in avoiding this and in avoiding the opposite defect ("floppy head syndrome" also known as "SST syndrome")

I agree that erosion can be a concern. I've seen pictures of failed nose jobs & breast implants where the skin uncovered the implanted material. I shudder to think of that happening to a penis.

I have the AMS 700 LGX. Definite growth from initial surgery but no more than i had natural. Struggling to get back to 6.5”. I have about 6.25” and happy with that. Girth is about the same. Agree with lostsheep about memory of being 18. I also had a 30” waist.

Re: Coloplast vs AMS re: Length Reduction
I think it goes back to the doctor getting the size right. That is why they do the stretch test And inject you to get an erection. That gives them an idea at least. Of course till they measure it is an unknown factor. You still cannot be sure to compare with someone else though but it should be close.
There have been numerous studies done and posted here. Pretty much all will stretch some. I think a titan was .9 cm. Cx was 1.2 cm and an lgx was 1.4 cm average. So a titan will still stretch you out about .4 of an inch.
Probably due to the stiffer cylinders. Better for peyronies. But not so good at getting length back if you still had a penis that had not hardened up to bad.
The thing most docs will tell you is an lgx will expand but only to the length of your original size if your penis is still stretchy enough to expand to it. One thing they pretty much agree on is an implant will not make you longer than your original size.
Probably someone out there where it did. Always someone who would say it did.
Titan or lgx or cx all should be for what your body needs. I kind of like the thought of the softer cylinders on the ams line of products but my peyronies mandated the titan. The pump is smaller on the titan though and as tight as things are in my scrotum that helps.. Either way they all work pretty much the same. Pump them up for use then deflate.

18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.
Re: Coloplast vs AMS re: Length Reduction
I had the Titan implant just on a year ago and started with a 16cm long penis straight after surgery ( 22cm implant) after regular pumping im back to 18.5cm which was the original length.

59 yo married Aussie Adelaide Guy after all treatments for ED from 35yo finally had a Titan 22cm + 1 extender in July 18. Lost 3cm length after but with regular pumping back to 0.5cm under original length.
