I find it hard to locate the deflate button.

I had the same problem with finding the deflate button on my AMS 700 LGX. It gets much easier after you heal up and there's less fibrous mushy stuff in your scrotum...took me about 7-8 weeks to get to that point. The basic drill is this: feel behind the pump and trace up to the back & middle of the rectangular deflation block with your index finger (opposite side of the deflation button). You'll feel some circular indented ridges. Once your index finger is there, put your thumb on the other side of the deflation block on the deflation button & do a claw motion...press both your index finger & thumb together on either side of the deflation block. When you hear the buzz, hold it for about 4-5 seconds until the buzzing stops...then wring out the remaining fluid by squeezing the top of the shaft & working your way down. They should've given you a rubber model to practice on...do the claw move on that for practice & then try it out. That was my biggest problem w/ the implant. I got hold of Dr. Kramer who contacted AMS for me...ended up sending a rep to my office for further instruction...great company. Also had the local patient rep checking in with me...sometimes this may be easier to do in a bathtub full of warm water...especially in the beginning. Rest assured you'll get the hang of it and be workin' your AMS 700 like a champ in no time...

100% agree except use hot water (as hot as you can stand). Hot water loosens up the rubber and makes it easier to claw. :D

Is the LGX deflate button inside the circular ridges or on the opposite side of the block from the ridges ? Also curious about the buzz ... is that loud enough to be obvious ?

the deflate button is in the center of the circle or raised ridges. It is above the bulb that you squeeze. Push the button you should locate that quite easily. Hold for 4 to 10 seconds. Then squeeze the bulb quicley and firmly. You will feel a pop or hear it. then you will be inflating with each squeeze.

To deflate the AMS devices, the length of time you hold the deflate button down is unimportant. How deeply you depress the button is.

When I deflate (and do not want to deflate fully) I press the button until the flow begins (I feel the vibration) for as long as it takes to get to the degree of rigidity I want, then release the button.

When I want to deflate completely, I press the button hard and feel a soft click, then I can release the button. This often takes less than a second. It just takes a deep press.

Great information guys. I’m 2 weeks away from going to see the surgeon for my training on inflation & deflation. Right now I’ve been instructed to pull down on the pump every time I urinate. Looking forward to doing the exercise the 1st time, but kind of concerned about how it may hurt. I know when I went back to surgeon 1 week after my surgery to have him deflate it, I had quite a bit of pain when he located the pump and squeezed the deflation button, & then further squeezed the penis to further deflate it. WOW it hurt! Bailey

I also had a terrible time with inflation/deflation at week 6. So bad I called AMS and spoke with a lady (Jamie) who walked me through a reset process. She indicated some new devices will have a valve stick within the pump which is a minor problem easy to resolve.

Her instruction to me was opposite of pump instruction. I was told to hold down the release valve while squeezing the pump. This method resets everything to "factory default". It worked.
RP surgery for PCa March 2011, rising PSA 2013, remission since 2014. Chronic ED since 2011 tried pills, VED, and injections. Implanted LGX 4/17/19 Dr. Kramer. On scale of 1-10 I'd give it an 8. That's due to a slight curve.
