I know I need an implant - advise needed

Postby spirit » Wed Jul 10, 2019 6:59 pm

I am 58yo, married 13 years, in good shape and in Chicagoland with a dead penis. I am certain an implant is needed to bring me back to full manhood.

History: I have had "stage fright" since teen years which always cleared up. I learned to deal with that by avoiding intercourse during the first encounter with a girl / woman but performed cunnilingus instead. (scored some points along the way). Then in my 40's, I discovered that Generic Viagra eliminated that stage fright issue and I reveled in that discovery from 2003 to 2016. In 2016, I had a very tough beginning of the year with a couple very stressful events and the pills started to not always have the same effect. I had had very intense morning erections each and every day but they turned off like a lightbulb when the stress hit in March of 2016.

One day in mid 2016 while masturbating while taking "V", I was a bit frustrated at not being completely hard and bent my penis to determine how hard it was and heard an audible "pop" sound. I didn't think too much of it until the next day when trying again and found that my straight and usually thick penis was suddenly deformed. It was not bent but thick about 2/3rds of the shaft and then mushroomed with a large bulge on the right side in the last 2/3rd of its length. I did not have insurance at that time and decided to hope it went away. It did not.

The condition changed but never got better and within a few weeks, the was no more erection forthcoming no matter what pill I took etc.. Since then I have discovered that I do indeed have type II diabetes have had my Doc prescribe genuine Viagra which has no real effect aside from the typical flushing feeling. Testosterone is normal, my drive / desire is strong but I have not had an erection now since mid 2016. I am certain that I suffer from some level of depression from this condition and all self esteem is gone. Being a very sexual person and being a bit on the shy side anyways has made this all the more worse. I really don't look forward to a future of lost manhood and yes, it has effected my marriage. All intimacy is gone even though my Wife is accepting of my condition. I can definitely perform in other ways but it very rarely goes there due to my embarrassment and perhaps her not knowing what to do. I do masturbate almost daily and have learned how to do so even with a limp member.

I have also invested in a medical grade pump. At as much pressure as I can take, my penis will engorge fully in an extra large tube but only for the initial 1/3rd of it's length. It will then, with time and repeated cycling, regain its length but never any thickness in the last 2/3rds of the shaft. As I have said to my Wife, I am really pretty much a Lesbian at this point. It is really quite devastating to have been switched off like that after having such a great sex life and I am sure it has effected her despite knowing full well my issue is not lack of interest.

I am sure someone will ask if I have visited a urologist and the answer is no. I have been referred to one but upon doing some research, I feel they are not one that would be trusted if going the implant route. I don't any other method such as an operation to relieve the obvious peyronies or prescribing shots to be a viable long term option. I just know that my penis is pretty much shot at this point without going bionic.

I have been reading this site for a month now at least and have learned a lot but do have a few questions.

Questions:
How long does it take to actually go from a diagnosis to having surgery? Is this process a few months or longer assuming I take the bull by the horns?

Are there really just a few surgeons that can be trusted to do this right? That said, I do not want to be a test case!

I was 7"+ long and likely that much or more in circumference and would like to keep the girth (or regain it). It there a hope there or is that too much to ask?

When starting this adventure, can I just basically insist that I skip any other treatments I know will fail and say that I want to go the implant route?

I have heard the Obamacare Blue Cross Silver Plan will cover an implant if related to Peyronies etc., but does anyone have direct experience? I would pay out of pocket somehow to have this fixed however.

Sorry for the long post. Thank you all who have shared so much on this site, it has helped me get to this point of posting and deciding to do what it takes to become whole again.

I don't believe it will be a long time from initial visit to implanting if your insurance covers it.
My urologist suggested an implant before us trying injections.

It does sound like you'll need a Titan implant.

Hey spirit! You do need an implant, no doubt about that. What you did bending your penis like that, those are the clinical signs of a penile fracture. Especially the Pop. You should avoid at all costs, to bend the penis like that. What you can and should do is get going on finding a doctor which you are confortable with, near you or what you are willing to travel to.

There are a lof of patients here from Dr. Kramer and Dr. Eid. Others too. You can book a video consultation with Dr Eid if you want too and talk to him in the privacy of your home.

At this point, bending it would not matter but yes, I would agree that bending your penis in a any state of erection is NOT a good idea! I had no clue it could "break" and that "pop" sound was quite shocking at the time.

Where do you live? There are excellent implant doctors (officially called prosthetic urologists) in many areas besides the one in downtown Baltimore and the one in New York City. (I know personally that that is true.)

Don’t be afraid about getting an implant but consider getting a malleable one. I much preferred the malleable implant as I could really feel all the hardware with inflatable especially the reservoir system and pump in scrotum. To me malleable was much better. Don’t be afraid that you may lose a bit of length and girth. It’s really not that big of a deal. Sounds like you have a similar cock as me. I used to be 7” wide by 7.75” wide. Now I’m 4.75 long by 5” wide with the malleable implant. It may be smaller but feels soooooo much better than inflatable implant. The reservoir and pump system with all those tubes felt soooo unnatural. The malleable implant feels qaaaay better as no tubes and pumps. Actually when you’re erect all the time it really helps your self esteem! Guys used to admire me in the gym/showers as they would start to get hard too! It’s quite erotic to look like you’ve got a semi happening when your cock is positioned down. Talk to your doc about it. Hugs Kristopher

Kristopher,

I am scheduled to meet with my uro is coming up in March. I was really leaning toward the Tactra Malleable until I saw this youtube video.
