Pump failure - 1 year in
Re: Pump failure - 1 year in
Out of surgery. The pump had failed. He replaced the pump & used quick connects from tubing to cylinders, but told me to be careful when pumping. I hope the quick connects were a good idea
Implanted by Dr. Hakky on August 6th, 2018 Coloplast 22 cm. Genesis pump failure 8/17/19. Revision 9/10/2019. Genesis pump failed 2/27/2020 while having sex. Second revision scheduled 4/7/2020 with new Titan One Touch pump instead of Genesis

LA Johnson wrote:My first implant’s pump failed in March of this year, 11 months from the date of implant. The failure was the body of the pump itself. The revision failed 9 days ago, both Titans with the older model pump, Genesis I think, which worked great til they didn’t.
The new failure is something between the reservoir and the pump because this time the cylinders still hold pressure but the bulb goes flat.
Appointment with doc on Monday and I’m getting a little pissed these folks just expect you to keep paying for their fuck-ups.
Did they use quick connects on your revision

In March he replaced everything except the reservoir, but he had to use a coupling of some sort to connect the new pump to the reservoir.
He told me this time (9/24) he is going to replace everything.

Couplers from reservoir to pump or couplers from cylinders to the pump? The couplers failed after first revision?

Between pump and reservoir. Since he had to connect the old reservoir to the new pump and cylinders.
Last time when it blew all the fluid leaked out. This time it was able to hold pressure in the cylinders until I saw the Doc and he pressed the deflate button, so now I'm flat as a pancake.
