HIFU and concerned

Postby ft8790 » Tue Sep 17, 2019 11:29 am

Hi all, I had full HIFU in May for tumors on right and left side of prostate. Urologist said he "stayed cleared" of the nurovascular bundle. At this point I'm only getting little response for erections with Viagra and Cialis. Urologist has been doing HIFU 13+ years and said he feels positive I will get erections back within 6 months (its been 3 months now). Any input thanks

Nerves do take awhile to recover. I see no reason to be anything but optimistic at this point. Ask him about using a VED to keep things oxygenated and exercised during recovery. My only experience is with the robotic surgery that I had. I don't remember HIFU even being mentioned.

VED is the acronym for the Vacuum Erection Device also know as a Penis Pump. There is a sub-forum on this site dedicated to the topic https://www.franktalk.org/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=4. There are medical grade devices that work very well and are fairly expensive. Your insurance may cover the cost if your doctor writes a script for one. There are also a wide variety of novelty sex shop penis pumps that may suffice. Their quality, price and efficacy vary wildly. I'd go with a medical grade device if possible. Ask your doctor for a script and recommendation.
