WindWizard’s (19m) Implant Journal

Postby WindWizard » Mon Oct 07, 2019 10:23 pm

Hello everyone! I love the idea of keeping an implant journal, both to share my experience with those who could benefit from reading about it, and also to be able to look back at myself along the various steps of the implant process and see what progress I have made. I’ll admit, it’s also going to be great to be able to talk to all of you and get advice and encouragement along the process. I love this forum.

Anyways, I’m currently trying to relax in my hotel room in Campbell California. (just next to Los Gatos and San Jose) My implant is scheduled for tomorrow at 12:00 PM, to be performed at El Camino Hospital by Dr. Edward Karpman. Not going to lie, currently very nervous and apprehensive, I keep double guessing my decision and hoping I made the right choice to move forward, both with the implant and with the doc.

Had a pre-op with Karpman today. It went well, I am impressed by the doc, he’s funny, personable and seems to really care about patient satisfaction and giving a good result. He performed the flaccid stretch test on me. Turns out flaccid stretched I’m only 14cm. I told him I was longer with trimex, Goldstein measured me at 16cm last year. He said that he could promise me 14cm, but that as long as I maintain a cycling schedule I will stretch more. A little nervous about the size thing, I really don’t want to get short changed, and I know even from watching videos of their surgeries that Karpman doesn’t seem to size as aggressively as Kramer does. Nonetheless, everyone I’ve talked to has reported very good results with him as far as size goes, so maybe I’m just overthinking it. We talked about a lot of things, reviewed stuff from my phone consultation with him, etc. I was given complete freedom between an AMS or a Coloplast, and I told the doc to use whatever he thinks will give me the biggest, hardest dick. Karpman recommended an AMS for my anatomy. He says he thinks the length and girth expansion will benefit me greatly. We talked about my penile curvature too. It’s not due to peyronies, but rather is a congenital downward curvature he believes. He offered to perform a minor procedure whereby he could straighten in with additional sutures in the top of the penis, and the cost of a small amount of length loss. I said I’m fine with the curvature, as he thinks overtime it will largely straighten out with the implant.

Ultimately I’m just in a lot of stress right now. Can’t believe what I’m about to go do, but it has to be done, my ED has ruled over my life for so long and I can’t let it rule me any longer. I’m mostly just concerned about size to be honest haha. I can handle pain well, and I know Karpman goes heavy on the precautions to avoid infections. I just really don’t wanna be stuck with a small dick haha.

I’m sure it’s normal to feel some anxiety before something like this but I feel like perhaps mine is a little overboard. Trying to relax and distract myself, but I doubt I’ll get much sleep tonight.

Thank you all for being there for me... hopefully I’ll be able to report to you tomorrow with confidence in my new bionic dick.

Wow! 19 years old!

You are a brave young man. I wish the best for you. I would have got the procedure done at 19, if I had known back then. The best part of a bionic dick, is lasting all night! The women in your future will never let you go.

Again, good luck, you’ll be fucking hard soon, but be patient.

Best wishes to you. I hope you will be as happy with your results as I am with mine. Two points I want to bring up from your post are in regards to size and curvature. My pre-op stretch test was on the short side and my doc said it was all he could promise. When I came out of surgery he told me when he got in and did the actual measurement he was able to use a larger size implant than he had expected he would. Also, during recovery be very patient. My size changed from 4.5” soon after surgery to 6.5” by 6 month. Actually probably sooner but I know it was that length by my 6 month update.

Regarding curvature, Titans are reputed to be of more help in straightening the curve but my AMS700LGX has straightened my upward curve which was still apparent for the first year after implant surgery. I think you were wise to forego any surgery to correct it. My wife actually misses my curve as it added more friction when we have sex. Now I make up for it with the way I thrust in and out.

I look forward to hearing your updates and I am here if you have any questions.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

DAY 0
POST - OP 9 HRS

Hey everyone!

So it’s official. I’m done and it’s over and there’s nothing I can do to change it now. For better or for worse (and I believe for the best) I’m bionic, and I’m gonna have to live with it.

Pre-Surgery procedures were fairly scary not going to lie. The IV going in hurt like hell and the whole time I just had this mounting, rising sense of dread, and my initial nurses weren’t very helpful in calling me down haha. The anesthesiologist made me feel much better. Nice guy, very confident and smiley, made me feel more confident about what I was about to do. Went over all the usual stuff about my health history and anesthesia. After a while I was wheeled upstairs and left in a large long hallway in a curtained off area. An assistant of Dr. Karpman’s came by. She was very bubbly and friendly, and certainly made me a feel a lot better as she could tell was pretty nervous. She had me initial and date the documents signing off on the procedure from yesterday. I had a moment of doubt and panic, but I swallowed it down and initialed. I was then wheeled into the OR.

The OR was very nice. Large, well lit, very professional and clean looking. Met Karpman’s assistant Andrew, and my anesthesiologist came by to chat with me again. The Doctor came in and we spoke briefly. His confidence and smiles certainly made me feel better. Then the mask was on and the anesthesiologist began to pump stuff fluids into me. I felt very warm and bizzare. I was worried for a bit I wouldn’t go under. Karpman’s assistant was claiming me and rubbing my shoulder haha, so her comforting made me feel better as a drifted off.

Waking up was something else. I wasn’t in much pain, I could just feel the sharpness if the incision. Everything else was painless due to the nerve block Karpman uses. I had a great nurse for a while who talked with me, got me water, etc. Took a long way for me to wake fully up, fighting thru the grog, but I remember taking note of the time at 2:05. The nurse said I was doing great and recovering quickly. It wasn’t too long before I was again wheeled for a ways to my hospital room, where I am still currently laying.

Pain honestly wasn’t too bad at first. I felt pretty good and pretty optimistic. I finally got to take a look at my member. It’s hard to tell because I’ve got a jock strap and a lot of bandages going on, but I feel fairly good about my size. I feel like I’ve got more than the 14 cm Dr. Karpman stretched me to yesterday. Hard to tell tho with all the bandaging and such. I’m not a big guy girth wise and that hasn’t changed, but all in all I think I feel pretty good about my size, knowing I’ve got quite a bit of cycling snd expanding to do with my LGX.

Karpman will come by to see me tomorrow morning per his routine. Would be nice to have been able to talk to him tonight, but I suppose it doesn’t really matter. He talked with my father for a while following the procedure. My dad says that he seemed really optimist about the result, saying I’ll be very happy with if, which is good to hear. He also said that the surgery was very simple in my case, and it went very well. My previous 40 degree curvature is only 10 degrees when inflated, so Karpman says that should work itself pretty straight with cycling. Karpman did say that he didn’t experience much scar tissue in the corpus cavernosum, and that made me a bit nervous for a while. Dr. Goldstein was adamant that that was the root cause of my ED, but Karpman definitely said that my symptoms were more reminiscent of a venous leak. I guess it really doesn’t matter. I can’t get very hard, even with pills, injections work poorly and I hated them, I start to quickly loose my VED hardness the instant I remove the device, I never have any morning woods, and I have NEVER had a positive sexual experience due to the embarrassment that ED has caused. And this has been going on for YEARS. So either way, scar tissue or VL, Karpman told my dad, I needed the implant haha.

Over the past hours I’ve gone thru multiple emotions, mostly feel hopeful tho. The pain has gotten quite a bit worse. A lot of aching in my penis, from the scar and the drain location. Everything kinda aches down there and it’s not pleasant. Dinner was nice but was hard to eat with a blood pressure monitor on my right hand and an IV in my left. I was hungry tho so I ate a lot haha. The catheter is pretty terrible not going to lie. Uncomfortable and I’ve been having some issues with backup which leads to pressure and pain in my bladder. We played around with the angle and it’s a lot better now but the nurse still has to come by periodically and adjust it so it drains better.

My nurse is a great guy, super personable and happy to help. Unfortunately another woman who comes in sometimes to check my vitals or employ the catheter has been less pleasant and she refused to acknowledge their was a problem with my catheter backing up. Sadly I never know who I’m gonna get when I make a call for Jake.

I took a narco earlier, it helped a lot but the effects are starting to wear off and it’s hurting worse. I can take another in 15 min, and I plan on it.

All in all doing pretty well I think. Hopeful, but also occasionally doubts and second guessing is creeping into my mind, which is bad because it’s done and I can’t change that now. I need to remain hopeful. Hate all this laying around. I can’t wait for the catheter to come out and I can get up and move a little bit.

Anyways, that’s all for now, sorry this has gotten so long, just got a lot on my mind and not much I can do haha. Thanks for the responses and encouragement guys. Feels great to have you with me.
