It depends on the person / type of work. I can tell you that my work is not physical at all and I needed 10 days of not working after surgery. If my work were physical, I could not have returned to work in at least 8 weeks.

I spoke too soon! I am very sore many hours after the deflation, and my penis still feel tight, just shorter. Do the implants create a more rigid feeling (vs pre-surgery) even when deflated? For some reason I thought the penis would be flaccid once deflated.

I am two weeks post surgery, and ran several errands today, having stayed home the last few weeks. As the day shifts to dusk, I am super sore. I cannot imagine going back to physical work at this stage of recovery.

What have they prescribed for this kind of discomfort?

Hydrocodone; but, I don’t find it very helpful. Rest, lounging in bed and ice calms it down (not all day, but for a few hours at a time). I had made considerable progress until deflated. I suspect it will calm down further over the next few days as my doctor said to expect it to get better and better going forward.

I am nearly three weeks post implant. I was deflated a week ago, yet my penis still is hard, just shorter. Should the penis be more flaccid when deflated? It is an AMS 700 LGX. Makes me feel like I am not fully deflated. Also, the pump is low in the scrottal sac, causing pain when I sit (I can definitely feel the pump inside. Is this normal and does the body adjust to having the pump inside?

Thanks!

I am going to discontinue any further use of the hydrocodone as I don't think it is needed. I am wearing my boxer shorts once again, but he recommended I keep some support over the surgical area, so I am using a pair of briefs on top of those for now.

I went out on Amazon and bought some Separatec and David Archy 2-pocket briefs. They're great! The hole above the scrotal pocket that one's member goes through did rub on my incision a bit causing some discomfort, but the fact that my scrotum and the pump were well supported and my penis was allowed to hang freely whichever way it would (albeit covered with the upper sleeve or fly) made for virtually no pain other than when I went from dress-right to dress-left and back again, due to the center seam in my blue jeans.

If you look for the briefs I got, just be careful with the David Archy brand as they sell more than just the 2-pocket variety. I had to return a package and reorder the correct briefs. I believe the 2-pocket design is all that Separatec sells, but they are more pricey than David Archy brand.

I also purchased the Separatec and really like them (thanks for the suggestion from members of this forum). My waste size is about 39", so I have tried both the large (36'-38") and extra-large (40'-42") size. I found the large size preferable - there seems to be more support, and my penis fits well into the second pocket. The extra-large size was too loose, creating the very friction that this brand of underwear is intended to eliminate, and the penis didn't seem to stay in its designated pouch.
