Is it normal to have sensitivity from the pump bulb in the lower part of the scrotum?
I notice this especially when first sitting down in a chair. I can feel the pump which is like a third ball, sitting low enough in my scrotum to be sensitive to pressure when I sit down. Even when settled down, I am constantly aware of this area - there is a constant, dull, slightly burning pain (for lack of a better description, I am not sure “burning” is the correct word). It is a almost as though there is an abrasion or skin rubbing on skin, even though that is not happening. It must still be swollen. I am using ice for relief, and a two-pouch underwear for support. I can’t imagine comfortably operating the pump and hope with time this will pass.
While the doctor deflated the implant last week, the cylinders still feel “hard”, it’s just that the penis is shorter. I expected it to be mostly flaccid. It feels like it must be 20% inflated (vs 60% after surgery). This is less annoying than the pump bulb problem described above,
I had the implant surgery three weeks ago today. The implant is an AMS 700 LGX.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Irritation From Implanted Pump
Re: Irritation From Implanted Pump
Like with any surgery you have to give things TIME to heal, in this case, your dick and balls have been through a lot. I know we guys want everything to be good yesterday but that is not going to happen. I will take about 3 months before it starts to feel "normal" down there, and it will continue to improve for the next year. It took me 6 months before I got all my length and most of my sensitivity back. So just hang in there, stop worrying, and enjoy playing with your new WORKING toy. It all WILL get better!

Re: Irritation From Implanted Pump
I have been looking thru all post for a couple of months and made a decision to get an implant. I was implanted on 11/27/2019 by dr Clavell in Houston. He has been a great and honest doctor. My question is if I am 50-60 inflated, and I feel that I cannot bend my penis up without breaking or hurting myself. Is this the normal after surgery?

Yes this is normal to feel that it that hard. Try pulling your pump down some if you are not doing so, keep it pulled down for a few minutes as many times as you can until it stays "floating" and not attached to anything. This should make it more comfortable.

I am two weeks ahead of you on my journey, having had my AMS 700 CX implanted on Monday 10/28/19. Even still my pump is the lowest object in my scrotum, hanging on the left side, in front of and underneath my left testicle. My scrotum will sting and itch at times, right where the bottom of the bulb hangs.
I think this is normal. Not only are our pumps continually pressing down from the inside and distending the scrotum, we also re-bruise the tissues of the scrotum slightly when pumping and deflating. The skin down there wasn't ever meant to have that much repeated pressure applied. Since you indicate above that you are dubious about your ability to activate as it stands now, I assume you aren't on a cycling regimen yet. I have been cycling since my 2-week followup, 15 days later (Tues 11/12). Different doctors have different time tables and regimens though so it's not surprising.
I find that after I have been inflated to the maximum (or near max) for 5-10 minutes or more, as soon as I deflate and squeeze out any remaining pressure back into the reservoir, my penis is loose, pliable and I can hang it down parallel to my legs when standing (points almost exactly "DOWN"), but after several minutes it starts to firm up again but not from auto-inflation. I figured out that tissues of my penis start to contract slightly after the pressure is released, causing a slight reduction in the length. Since I'm using a CX, there is no length expansion so where does the reduced length go? The cylinders compress and sort of "dog-ear" slightly, wrinkling up in the corpora. This, I believe, is what is firming up my penis a few minutes after deflation. I can repeat the cycle and every time, right after deflating it is very flexible and thinner, and within a few minutes it plumps up and starts to stick out a little bit.

First off, follow the doctor's orders. Secondly, keep support for the scrotum and try to let your penis go where it wants to. within my first week, I bought some Separatec 2-pocket underwear from Amazon (later bought some David Archy as well as it is a little cheaper). These have the advantage of properly supporting your scrotum along with the pump and letting your penis hang where it wants, covered by it's own flap/pocket.
My incision was penoscrotal so the edge of my underwear's port-hole rubbed a little bit on my incision, causing a little soreness and the incision wept on the fabric a little after the DermaBond fell off. Still though, it was far better than feeling a 10 lb rock sagging in my bruised and battered scrotum until the pain started to subside.
As to the part about bending your penis up, I'm assuming you are referring to pressing it against your belly, not physically bending the penis. Yes that will hurt early on and in my case it was uncomfortable being against my belly and also hanging down. I even had to situate the "fly" flap on my new underwear because it initially was pushing inward causing pain.
Note that some doctors recommend taping your penis to your belly with surgical/medical tape to allow it to heal in a more upward position. I did this some of the time and although it did hurt when I taped it down, it subsided quickly as there was no more back and forth movement to cause more pain.

With a little experimentation I figured out something related to the "dog-ears" or wrinkles in the fully deflated cylinders. This method doesn't allow me to retain the more flaccid appearance I described above that occurs right after deflation but it helps with another thing I've noticed related to the suspected wrinkling and compressing of the cylinders as my tissues contract a bit: PAIN and ITCH in one or both cylinders when fully deflated
After I've fully deflated and squeezed all of the saline back into the reservoir, I squeeze the bulb on the pump ONCE to put just a little saline back in. Not anywhere near enough for a full rigid erection. Only one pump, maybe less that a full pump, just to re-inflate the cylinders to "work the wrinkles out" (a phrase I used to use meaning to get a natural erection).
One benefit, I've noticed as the swelling has continued to subside (which is partially responsible for the contraction when deflated), my newly acquired "PACKAGE" lump in the left front of my pants has all but disappeared. With a single partial pump, that PACKAGE lump has reappeared. I've always been a grower, even some days a turtle, so having a package that at least *I* know is there, was a big thrill as I was recovering. When I noticed it was almost flush with my pants a few days ago, I got a little disappointed. Now I have it back with such a simple little action.
Yes, I know I risk auto-inflation by leaving the pump check-valve in the INFLATE mode and YES I know there's a potential (very slight) of my reservoir locking in at less that full capacity due to the capsule forming around a partially filled reservoir, if I always go with one pump. I believe the risk of both is slim. Auto-inflation is the biggest risk and if I do auto-inflate and something "pops-up", it's a simple matter to excuse myself and deflate properly with the check-valve left in the deflate position. Still though, it feels better with one pump, without itching or twinges of pain, plus I have the semi-visible lump in my pants that I was so pleased with having early on in my recovery.

I am not cycling because when he did the 2 week follow-up and deflated me from 60% to 20% it was quite painful to press on the deflate button. There was a fair amount of groaning on my part, and the bulb pump is still very sensitive. He pushed off cycling another 3 weeks which will be 5 weeks post surgery.
I appreciate all of the feedback. I am trying to be patient and am hopeful that I will find a new normal that once again includes sex!
