Anyone Experience Fribrosis from Injections?

Postby niarceel » Sun Dec 08, 2019 5:20 pm

I've been injecting for about a year. My penis feels a little like a pin cushion.

I don't mind this condition as long as there is no permanent damage, specifically fribrosis, scar tissue, that interferes with getting erections in my future.

I don't scar easily and when I do, it normally disappears over time, so that is in my favor.

Can anyone provide their experience and/or advice on the long term effects of injecting needles into a relatively small spot on our anatomy?

Health is very good. ED began from venous leakage (2003).
Used Cialis (2003-2017), penile injections (2018-2019), 4 implants (2020-2021), now have an AMS 700 installed.

I injected for almost 9 years. Overall a seriously great option for where I was at (pills failing, and very sexual relationship). 7 of those 9 years injections were extremely effective. Over time, physical tolerance to the drugs is a reality and most people find they require continually higher doses to achieve same results. That was certainly my experience. Also, over years and years, the prostaglandin (alprostadil) dose escalating can definitely cause quite serious burning, aching, pain. It can linger well beyond the sexual experience. Mine was sometimes days long. But all of this I happily endured because the erections were pure steel rods most often and the resultant sexual experiences, for the better part of a decade, were mostly excellent and frequently mind-blowing. Your mileage may vary, this is only my experience.

I did develop fibrotic tissue in the right side cavernosum. Started about 7 years in, and at very high doses of high concentration Trimix. I was more comfortable as a righty injecting the right side. I tried to move the injection site all around but coordination, patience while she's laying there naked, and an abundance of veins in the wrong places made variety of location challenging.

Again - I'd do that 9 year experience over again without question, even knowing what I know. Tailor that mix and you have an excellent chance at ridiculously good hardons. Those hardons may not be without consequence long term. I was implanted 3 weeks ago and the surgeon had some work to do to clear through that thickened cavernosum.

Here's the thing though - if you're already committed to injections now, that means you've already had serious ED difficulty and you've likely had failing experiences with the pills - so why worry about developing fibrosis? What choice do you have? This is where you're at. Stopping injections is not going to change the reality of the difficulty with natural erections and the failing nature, I assume, of your pills. So go at the injections, have fun, have a lot of good sex. You may get a very long run out of them. If you don't...the implant technology is there.

I've been doing some research since I first posted this thread.

This article documents important research on the causes and treatments for penile fibrosis: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4443017/

It was published in 2013. There have been many more studies on penile fibrosis since that date.

Some excerpts from the paper:
Penile fibrosis was assumed to be rare and limited to the formation of plaques of the tunica albuginea in patients with Peyronie’s disease (PD) [1]. However, it has recently become evident that fibrosis of the corpora cavernosa and the media of the penile arteries, involving the loss of smooth muscle cells, is a highly prevalent process in most cases of vasculogenic erectile dysfunction (ED) [2]. Corporal fibrosis usually occurs after explantation of an infected penile prosthesis [3], severe penile trauma [4], refractory low-flow priapism [5], PD [6], or the use of chronic intracavernous injection (ICI) of vasoactive drugs.

Research on animal models suggests that the continuous and long-term administration of PDE5i is not only safe but also has anti-fibrotic properties that might help to relieve fibrotic plaques in localised as well as widespread fibrosis in penile tissue.

PDE5i is sildenafil which is Viagra.

I've continued to research the causes of, and treatments for, penile fibrosis. There are many scientific studies in progress and an abundance of published papers.

Here's what I have concluded to date:
1. Penile fibrosis is considered to be a natural result of aging in men.
2. Penile fibrosis formations are accelerated by injuries to the penis, including injections of Bimix and Trimix.
3. Cialis and Viagra, taken daily, appear to inhibit penile fibrosis and maybe even reverse the damage from it.
4. Anything that increases levels of Nitric Oxide in the penis helps to inhibit the formation of penile fibrosis. A good source of Nitric Oxide is an L-Arginine supplement.

I have been using Trimix for almost four years. I started developing scarring early the fourth year. I have it on both sides. Went to see my Urol and he says it is permanent thing and will not go away. I also noticed my cock having a slight left curve with this scarring. My cock has always been straight but my urol says this is from the scarring using trimix. I don't remember anyone ever mentioning scarring as a possible side effect but they should have. Talked with my urol about this last week and he said they should have discussed this in depth with me but they did not. The Urol I see now is not the one that started me out using Trimx. He agree it should have been part of the dissucssion. Anyway I should have know there would be some side effects because our cock were not made to be a pin cushion. I told him that I had talk with guys who had sid they had been using trimix for ten with no scarring. He said that he would bet that is not true. He said they probably don't know about it. Anyway we all know you cant stick needles in our cocks over and over and not have some kind of side effects. I am running out of places to stick is the reason I am exploring getting a implant. The needles wont go through the scarring and I have to inject really low or real high.
66 yr old male married 36 yrs use trimix four yrs, cilais and Viagra. trimix work well developed scarring on both sides had implant 1/9/2020 at UT Med Ctr, Knoxville, TN Dr. John Lacy.

Yes - and the other caution being, that the more scarring/fibrosis/thickening which occurs along the cavernosum, this can impact the future placement of implant hardware. My surgeon discussed this with me prior, explaining that I had a fair amount of thickened fibrotic tissue but in his opinion not so much that he couldn't work through it in surgery while placing the Titan. He said they've learned about this over the years and that he has the surgical instruments now to get through that tissue and still successfully and optimally place the implant. He did say that implant placement can get quite difficult in men with more advanced fibrosis.

Robert...totally agree...Injections are easy and bullet proof if you d it right. Just follow the on line demos. On it for 4 years and hope it lasts forever.
Age 80 good health. Radiation prostate 28 hits 4 years ago with 6 months of horrible ADT. Good recovery and ED worse.
Can't tolerate oral drugs but 5 years of Alprostadil 40mcg/ml 25 units is a miracle for 3 hours. GF is happy!!

stephen54,

I fully appreciate your response. I have a very similar attitude about the scar tissue damage from injections because my wife and I are having the best love making experiences we've ever had. Too hell with the damage; the price is worth the value received.

I'm not going to give the injections up as long as they are working, and right now, they are. I'm only interested in slowing down the inevitable damage from injections. Said another way, I want my penis to outlive me, not the other way around.

If I can get another 20 years of incredible love making with my wife, I'll be in my 90's and ready to go. I won't care if my penis is damaged beyond repair. In fact, I want to use it with her until it is thoroughly worn out.

I just want to make sure I do whatever I can to make the next 20 years as incredible as the last year has been.
