I would have thought so, too, but my surgery was over a month ago and, post-op, I didn't have any hint of blood in the urine, nothing.
Doctor got me in to the office yesterday and physical exam was fine, lots of blood in urine but no bacteria - so he takes a look, endoscopically (ie, performed a cystoscopy). Again, not the most pleasant procedure, but fuck it at this point...just looking for answers and reassurance that I'm ok. So my doctor threads the endoscope into my penis and looks up my urethra, lower urinary tract, bladder, and prostate. Prostate part highly un-enjoyable. Thankfully, he said everything was perfectly clean. Which is a hell of a relief, to tell you the truth, because of the bad shit (I mean...the seriously bad shit) that could have been occurring.
So he talked about how, via the catheter during surgery, something could have been damaged enough and left a little pocket of fluid/blood which, for whatever reason, decided to let loose, but he agrees it's pretty unusual and odd and even more so that it's happening over 4 weeks out. And it wasn't a speck of blood or a pink tinge. It was pretty fucking crazy to tell the truth...extremely alarming to see the volume of brownish deep red pee keep coming and coming.
Other possibility in my book...and this is not necessarily supported by the anatomy, but it is curious to me...when I had to go in to the office to get deflated the day prior, the urology fellow who deflated me, when he got the button to activate he squeezed my dick hard. Then, harder. Then? Insanely fucking hard. In my newbie opinion, anyway. Hard enough that I felt the cylinders seemingly crinkle down. And I know he did more than we had done prior on my 4 week activation visit, because he left me truly deflated...I think I left the office the day prior with some fluid still in the cylinders. So my point is, the day I started peeing scary ass blood, that day started with one hell of a crazy manipulation of my sac to drive edema out, followed by an extremely tight-fisted penis crushing. So I don't see how that puts blood into my lower urinary tract exactly. Like...that anatomy does not wash for me. But the coincidence is odd.
Knock on wood, 12 hours later the urine is clearing up...
This new implant world is so odd!
