Journey begins I’m implanted. Best icing methods?

Ok got my implant done 12/26 got home yesterday. So far so good it’s hurting and weird to have a hard dick in my pants 24/7 ( had it fully inflated first day now 1/2 or less) but other than pain I expected it’s not unbearable and I’m glad I did it. Size not what I had before for sure but hopefully will be better upon full inflation and better than the nub I’ve been staring at for the last few years. Wish I did this long ago might have lost length waiting. Really like my doc and the hospital the nurses were so damn nice and helpful.

I’m trying to figure out the best way to ice. At the hospital they pretty much just pushed the ice pack against my balls nothing on the shaft is that how most here have done it? I’m using the bag they gave me from the hospital I’m wondering if it’s cold enough. Don’t want frostbite but want to alleviate swelling. I just put on a pair of tight fitting underwear (hard to push that half inflated dick in there pointing up) and am switching to bags of vegetables.

I also might have to run an errand later am I crazy to get in the car and drive?

I liked using bags of frozen peas. I put it in a hand towel to prevent frostbite, while keeping a 2nd bag in the freezer. Rotating the 2 bags for several days. The bags I bought were large enough to cover both my sack & shaft. On 20 minutes & off 20 minutes. Ice was my best friend for about 10 days. There’s some other good post on this subject in the implant section. I’m 6 months out now and everything is going well. Good luck, Bailey

I used ice in a zip lock bag placed bag in an upright position and placed in a pillow case then placed directly on skin, worked great better than anything else.

Frozen peas. 6bags. One top and one bottom. Rotate before they thaw. Helped me. I had major pain and a lot of swelling. Good luck.

The bags they supplied me with from the hospital had a soft cloth-like outer layer that was somewhat like light flannel. That keeps the direct cold off of the skin even without a towel, although it does still get very cold over time so moving it around or taking it off from time to time helped me.

As to what needs to be iced, I would say that's up to your judgement. If your scrotum is swollen to baseball size then ice that for sure. You will certainly have swelling in the penis to some degree and it will be translated into pain of some sort. Mine was aches and twinges. Ice as needed to minimize that pain and ache. I had more need for ice around day 2-3, maybe up to day 5. Day 1 post-op didn't hurt too much because I'm sure I probably still had some anesthesia in my system.

I used frozen pearl onions. I knew I'd never use them again by accident. Ice gel bags from Walgreens or Walmart also are flexible and retain the cold a long time. They got me through the first week.

If you have a fridge with ice maker, buy a large mouth reusable ice bag. I bought two at WalMart. One on top and one below. Brrr... only leave on for 10 mins at a time. Don’t want frostbite!

I found the frozen vegetables would harden into a big chunk. Someone suggested freezing dried beans.

Saw your post that you got implanted on 12/26. I am scheduled for implant on jan 9th. I'm getting a little nervous as time is ticking by! I hope you continue to do well. Is the pain very bad? I have read over and over that ice is your best friend. Keep ice packs going and I'm sure you'll do fine. Hang in there! I wish you the best!
