I did read one study wherein about 50% of implanted men had spontaneous (unaided by inflation of the implant) erections and on man even had an erection once sufficient for penetrative sex. All had cavernosum-sparing technique used for the implant.

I suppose (though the authors of the paper did not go this far) that the erections were due to venous leakage being mitigated by the implant compressing the leaking veins. But that is pure speculation.

No, this was the corpora that were semi-rigid. I hang left when sitting (as when walking now), and both the left and right sides of my penis were stiff. Since I obviously had my pants on, I have little means of knowing if the glans and spongiosum was rigid but as God is my witness, I had an honest to God stiffie!

I still get semi's sometimes during the day and quite often at night. My dick is much more round with them then when I pump it up, and it feels much like the "old" days. So something is going on.

Scenario I imagine for my answer

You pump up, unaroused.
Girth is measured.
You get aroused.
Measure girth again and find it greater.

The reason for this is the spongiosum tissue. Outside the tunica albubinea, (and aside from skin, uretura and other tissues in your penis) there is tissue in your shaft and glans called spongiosum. It engorges much like the corpora cavernosum inside your tunica that creates erections (which, in our cases is compromised and doesn't work so good, so was replaced/supplanted by the implant device's tubes). The engorgement of the spongiosum makes the glans and your shaft expand a bit and firm up some. This firming up is not enough for penetrative sex, but does do a little stiffening. And, as you have observed, a little enlargement.

There are some examples in the medical literature of implanted men (whose corpora cavernosum were not removed or damaged extensively) retaining some degree of erectile funcion or even have some improvement. This is fairly rare, but documented cases exist.

At least in my case the tumescence is not additive. It might make it a little less oval but what I've seen only appears when deflated. I think this may be due to the erectile tissue of the corpora being compressed by the cylinders and thus not able to become tumescent while inflated. When there is no additional pressure on the corpora (deflated), they can become naturally tumescent.
