Magic mike: Best wishes for your travels. I had my surgery with Dr. Eid Feb of 2015. It was done on a Friday and I flew back to ATL on Sunday. Pain was manageable with the oxy. Fortunately my wife was with me and they provided a wheel chair. The catheter bag was a nuisance and I was patted down in security. When I explained I had just had kidney surgery, and showed the TSA guy my urine bag, he let me go through . I was definitely carrying over 3 ml of liquid on me (ha). I stayed our of work a week and the pain subsided, as did swelling. For me, I had minimal bruising, and typical scrotal swelling . My shaft was really sensitive and hurt when bumped it on anything . This lasted a few more weeks but subsided in a few more weeks. It really didn’t limit regular daily work activities. I activated at 2 weeks, sex at 5 weeks. When I work back, my wife and I agree while this was a huge decision and procedure we never imagined, it was one the best decisions we ever made. I’m not hoping for a revision any time soon, just hope when the time comes Dr Eid is still practicing. I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Dr Eid will inflate and deflate you before sending you home. This hurts a bit so make sure you have taking a pain pill before he does it. Next thing is to make sure you have a baggy sweater and sweatpants for the airplane trip home. It will be easy to conceal your implant with these two items. Next thing when you get home is to try to have your first shit since being on pain meds. Dr Eid Should have givin you some drugs to aid this.

Dr eid would like you to start cycling after 3 days post op. Practice identifying and feeling the pump bulb and deflation button on the keychain pump dr eid gave you. Before inflating at home on your own you need to be comfortable with finding and squeezing the deflate button. You don’t want to inflate and not be able to find or press hard enough on the deflate button other wise you’ll have to go to the hospital to have someone deflate you. Soaking in a hot bath will loosen your nut sack and make it easier to inflate and deflate.

In 10 days the swelling in your nut sack should be just about gone. At 12-14 days you will remove the stitches so your skin dosnt grow over them. I went to my local clinic to have them do it for me but dr Eid did give me the supply’s to do it myself. Once you activate your implant for the first time yourself at home you are cleared to start cycling. Try for 2 sessions of 15 mins each every day. The dr will stop prescribing pain meds after 30 days post op so you might want to call him for another prescription before that time comes up. The pain meds helped me with pain I had during cycling for the first 6 weeks. Also for the first two weeks post op I used a ice pack multiple times a day to help with pain and swelling.

Which pain pills did you take before going to see Eid for the first inflate/ deflate? The Percocet or just the ibuprofen?

Also do you recommend the ibuprofen for the first few weeks of cycling as well?

Just be careful if you have to drive either to the doctor or after leaving the doctor if you're taking narcotics. Nobody wants a DUI for driving with narcotics in your system.

I went to my doctor on day 15 to be activated and didn't even have Aleve in my system. Truth be told though, I had done limited activation on my own at day 7. I had to "PLAY DUMB" when the doctor explained where the pump was and how to inflate and deflate. I just followed HIS instructions despite already knowing how.
