Vyleesi / bremelanotide & Erectile Dysfunction

Wanted to share my experience using Vyleesi for my erectile dysfunction, so that others on this forum know about it as a potential option for to discuss with their doctors as part of their treatment plan.

I've been working with Dr Goldstein in San Diego to explore all of my non surgical options before taking the plunge and getting an implant. Dr Goldstein has been prescribing vyleesi to his male patients with ED now that it's available. Apparently bremelanotides have long been known for helping ED and were being researched for this purpose in the late 90's, but then viagra came out so the research stopped at that time.

I've taken vyleesi three times now. It's a pen injectable, and its effects last about 16 hours. I find I get better and more pleasureable erections from it than I do from my usual dose of 40 mg cialis. It also cuts my refractory period after sex to 15 minutes, which is amazing as I'm 45.

Vyleesi doesn't have an impact on my venous leak from a penile fracture injury, so I still need consistent stimulation to maintain my erection and reach orgasm.

However I have found it to work better than either cialis or bimix. So depending on where you are with your treatment you may wish to discuss this options with your physician.

In your experience, what is the optimum time interval between injection and sexual activity? The Vyleesi information says to use it one hour before activity. However, others on Franktalk (e.g. dtwarren) have indicated that injecting 3 or 4 hours before is better. I am curious to know what your experience is.

It worked for me but the side effect of getting darker and darker wasn’t a good look.

In terms of how long to wait after injecting and before sex, I found an hour is about right.

I also found since it lasts for about 16 hours that it's better I inject first thing in the morning. I save them for weekends when we've got time to go a few rounds
