My implant surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning with Dr. Kramer, so I figured I'd begin a journal to hopefully help others in the same way reading other's journals have helped me. Here we go!

My backstory: I'm 44 and have been dealing with ED for at least 10 years, although probably longer and I just didn't want to face/admit it. It took me far too long to accept the fact that I had a problem, so by the time I did anything about it, nothing seemed to work all that well. Pills provided a moderate improvement at best, but never to the point where I'd say they did the job. Pumps were insanely uncomfortable and also never provided much help. Injections were never on the table for a number of reasons, so now, here we are! Fortunately, my wife has always been very supportive and never gave me a difficult time even once.

My hope is that the fact that I don't have any major complications going into the surgery, that it'll be a walk in the park for an experienced surgeon like Dr. Kramer. I'm not really worried or stressed about the operation, but am also not trying to get my hopes up too high. While I'd love for this to bring a significant change in my marriage, I'm trying to just take it one day at a time and see how things go. I know I'll need to be patient through the recovery period, which is generally not my strong suit, but I plan on following the post-op instructions to the letter to give myself the best chance at a speedy and full recovery.

I fully anticipate some periods of extreme pain/discomfort/awkwardness, and while I've done plenty of reading, I'm sure I'll encounter things I didn't expect, but an crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. I'll do my best to provide updates as I progress through recovery.

Howdy Bob from the snowy Texas Hill Country.

Of course it’ll stop within 4 hrs and be melted away by 10 AM.

Cajun Jeff, notaes, and I all walked the same path a month or less ago. We chatted by phone, encouraged one another, created our own informal and impromptu support group.

Here’s our dirty little secret:

It wasn’t that bad. Not at all.

I bruised like I had been hit by a truck between my waist to just above the knee. I was sore as hell. But I never had a lick of anything I would call pain. Buzz and Jeff were exactly the same.

Swelling and soreness. Expect them. Ice is your friend.

The view just 3 or 4 weeks after the surgery? You’re going to be asking yourself why you were even worried. It’s about like a hernia repair with (in my case) more bruising.

Good luck. I had no issues at all from the surgery. Very little bruising. I did have swelling in my fat pad for a couple weeks. I actually looked pretty normal and hard to tell I had anything done.

My worst thing was being pumped up about 60 percent for the first couple weeks to keep it inflated. Hard to go anywhere. I had to strap it to my belly. Kept it strapped to my belly actually for about 2 months then it started laying down.

just wanted to echo what Tx said ... as long as you have chosen a good surgeon (which it appears you have) you have very little to worry about. Be prepared for some pain for a few days (at most) and some bruising which is normal.

I am about a month out from my implant surgery and to be honest I hardly ever think about it anymore except when I am cycling. I would count it amongst my easier surgeries ... took one or two pain pills the first couple of days and put the rest on the shelf.

You mentioned your wife has been very understanding and supportive (which is great) ... her patience is about to be very generously rewarded

Best wishes on your surgery and recovery. I developed a Venous Leak at age 30 that went undiagnosed until I was 60. I am happy for you that you are on you way much sooner than I was. We are here for you to help with any questions you may have.

I hope your trip with this will be as non eventful as mine has been. I never dreamed that this surgery would be this easy. I’m 3 and 1/2 weeks. Only took 1 pain pill because the hospital required it for my ride home, I had a bit of swelling and some bruising. But it was all gone at the end of week one.

I am in love with my new toy. I feel so manly again.

Hey Bob,

Best of luck today. Sounds like you are entering into this with three great assets - a good surgeon, a good circumspect attitude, and a genuine partner of a wife right at your side. Awesome.

Obviously everyone's experiences run the spectrum here with implantation, in terms of the post-op feelings, discomfort, appearance...and all the dozens of odd little nuances which arise (which, of course, no one else could ever rightly prepare you for) I only know my own experiences with this, but can honestly tell you at 11 weeks out that my recovery was shockingly fast and bewilderingly easy, and that this Titan, while it's taken a bit of adjustment to learn how to work with it physically (how it hangs, where to put it, how to operate it, which movements feel better than others, etc) on a day to day basis I'm not particularly aware that it is down there and that I did the invasive thing that I in fact did to myself. My new version of normal keeps smoothing out and getting better and better. And the promise of what it can actually do...it's the real deal and pretty damn amazing, man. It really is.

Hey my friend:

The thoughts of this surgery is worse than the actual surgery. I had swelling and bruising but hardly any pain. The worse part for me was the headache from anesthesia. I came home the day after surgery and did absolutely great. I am starting my fifth week of my six week healing period. Just relax and take it easy and enjoy the experience. Using ice packs will help heal the bruising and swelling more than anything. In two weeks my swelling and bruising was almost all gone. you'll do great. thinking of you. let us know how you do! I really think the thoughts of this surgery is the worst part of it. I never had any serious pain period. I starting my fifth week after implant, our minds are power tools and I think
If we can control our minds we have it made. Just use ice packs a lot and you’ll do fine. I was scared to death needlessly. The biggest thing for me was the unknown. I didn’t know what I was giving up as a man. I still feel everything as before like morning wood but just
