Doctors actually say otherwise, but it depends on the situation. You can't just make statements like that.

I beg to differ on one point. You CAN make statements like that. A disservice to one's readers to not back it up with evidence, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
You know what they say about opinions and assholes. Everyone has one.
I went with AMS LGX for a number of reasons, but recognize that Titan would have been better IN SOME FEATURES than the AMS device. Just as the AMS has SOME features superior to the Coloplast product.
So, my opinion of zandro's comment is affirmative. Depends on the specifics and what is important to the patient. Some member posting here lately have removed a perfectly (erectilly) functional inflatable for a malleable because his profession demanded that no pump or tubing be visible. (Pornographic movie actor). So, not just the medical specifics of the situation govern the choice.
Here's a blanket statement to consider: "Blanket statements are always inadvisable." :D :roll

To dismiss AMS is to ignore the CX line. That model is more "Titan" like than the LGX model. Our members should be reminded that AMS has more that 1 implant model.
LS, I use this disclaimer. "Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has a couple & they usually stink." And yes, my opinions can fall into that category.

yes, when I spoke to my urologist, he stated that he prefers the girth of the titan, but, for the times he uses AMS, he likes the CX cylinders. They are stronger than the LGX and therefore ?might? be more durable?

I had Peyronies in addition to a severe Venous Leak. During my implant surgery my surgeon said he scraped out the plaque before inserting my device. I came out of surgery with an AMS700LGX and still had a curve. My doc said it would straighten with time and it did. It took about 6 months.

My point is two fold. A trained surgeon can help correct the curvature by removing the plaque and an AMS did eventually straighten my curve, although it was not extreme.

I have photos showing how my shaft looked prior to surgery, at 6 months, and after it straightened . If it will help you I can send them to you.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

I suppose this is a different situation but...
I was perfectly straight before LGX IPP surgery. My doctors dilated me crooked and measured badly right side longer than the left. I had Peyronnies but was straight as an arrow... until surgery. After my shaft bent hard left. Noe 18 mos later auto-inflated my shaft is straightish. But the glans is now cocked pee on the floor at night. Fully inflated my shaft is straight but glans cocoked. The right side of my shaft stretched about 7/8 inch to compensate
Looks funny works great

Well things are moving along slowly. I had a ct scan and it did show the reservoir was deflated and a lot of saline still in the general area around it. This titan is done for now.

I am not going with my original surgeon as I need to have both my urologist surgeon and my hernia surgeon in the or. I traveled about 3.5 hours for my initial implant in march 2019 when I got my titan.

My local urologist is going to remove the entire titan implant and put in a 700lgx. He said the year with the titan was enough and I should like the softer flaccid feel of the lgx.

All I can do is put my faith in the new guy and hope for the best. Let the hernia doc do his stuff first then get the implant done. No telling what my body will look like this time with incisions everywhere. One positive is I already have 19 cm titan cylinders with the rte in so measuring should be easier. I am hoping for a 21 cm lgx but probably will have to settle for the 18 plus one or 2 rtes.

Both docs are there this time to make sure nothing gets cut nicked or sewn together.

Damn I hate the thought of doing this again on March 18. Just hope the peyronies does not show back up and the lgx does as good a job straightening it as the titan did. Time will tell.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.

I had peyronies corrected w excision, grafting and AMS CX implant. A year later I needed a revision and switched to a Titan. Once your peyronies is corrected, it should not return w any implant. I’msure you’ll be happy w the AMS LGX. Advantages seem to be ability to increase length and girth over time and a more natural feel than the Titan. I prefer the Titan because the cylinders have more girth to begin with and is much more rigid (length also increases w time). It doesn’t have as natural feel when flaccid but that’s not a concern to me. I’d wonder if your doc is an AMS doc...check his funding out on pro public’s website. Even though my doc prefers AMS, he was willing to go w the Titan given my preferences. Most agree if any part of an implant fails it’s best for everything to be replaced. One other consideration is if your Titan failed and is replaced there will be no cost fir the device if replaced w a Titan (AMS has same warranty), but if you switch from Coloplast to ANS (or vice versa), you’ll have to pay fir the new device.

SW,
I will be very interested to hear your first hand comparison Titan vs. LGX.
Once you get LGX, please post your comments on differences, how it feels and looks flaccid and other differences you experience along your recovery and use. I am not happy with my Titan flaccid look. It looks always semi erect and sticks out at 45 degrees all the time. It is extremely hard to hide it while wearing scrubs at the hospital. I know how to deflate properly and completely. After complete deflation, my penis looks flat like being run over by bus tire.
Will follow your postings. Good luck with your upcoming surgery.
