If I Get Full Erection, Will My Libido Increase Too?

Postby kinggg » Tue Feb 18, 2020 3:00 pm

I get morning wood that typically lasts 3 - 5 minutes unfortunately. I get morning wood about 4 times a week. Afterwards I cant get any more erections no matter what I do and I lose my libido and this lasts throughout the day. So is it possible that if I get a full erection through injections or whatever that I might feel libido rise with it?

Very possible. Not guaranteed, but there are several mechanisms at work which all help.

Mentally, having an erection in front of you can lift your spirits and give you sexual thoughts. That, if it does not increase your libido is a darned good emulation.

Physically, having an erection subjects your penis to more stimulation against clothing, air, temperature and even stimulates your nerves from the inside. That physical arousal is likely to to increase your libido/desire.

Emotionally is a bit more nebulous, but feeling capable is a definite lift. At least, I found it so.

Drugs (prescription, over-the-counter or over-the transom and even some environmental - I imagine) or any chemicals can have effects as well. Sometimes helpful and sometimes deleterious.

Depression is a libido killer for sure and VERY powerful. Sometimes under our control and sometimes not. Seek professional help for this. Clergy, counselors, medical professionals, even trusted family members. Someone! Don't try to treat depression alone. Depression is replete with vicious cycles that are nearly impossible to recognize or interrupt from inside the circle. Not that I think you have depression. No indication of that in your original post, but the thought popped up in my mind and this last paragraph might help someone who does or knows someone who does. Besides, E.D. itself can produce depression which viciously cycles back on itself to produce worse E.D.

...and if you get an implant, you can become machine-like and fuck all night (and not come)
Seriously, if its only morning you get a hardon, that does not count. While you sleep, your body is expressing itself, and once you wake up, your conscience takes over and just puts everything down.
LS is right, if it affects your everyday life, get professional help.

Thats very good to know! I know exactly what you mean by that.

I actually have depression. On some days I feel like so fuckin hopeless. Other days I feel less sad but still hopeless.

E.D. itself can produce depression which viciously cycles back on itself to produce worse E.D.

And THIS can explain why my ED has worsened. But its not the root cause of it.

In that case, find the cause. I was hospitalized with debilitating pain from an unknown cause and it depressed me. My spirits lifted considerably when diagnostic tests confirmed sciatica. Felt even better when I read up on it and found the effective "cures" have a pretty high success rate giving relief.

So, finding the cause can help lift your spirits.

Finding a treatment is even better.

Finding a cure, better still.

Succeeding with a cure...well that's the ultimate.

And, remember, it is possible. Even if one search comes up dry, "Never give up! Never surrender!" (Galaxy Quest, Dreamworks Pictures, 1999)

I'm not sure what you mean. Erections start in the brain and arousal is essential but in some cases it is possible to have an erection without sexual stimulation, e.g. implants.

There are treatments that may improve libido and erectile dysfunction, e.g. apomorphine, cabergoline but most of them are still experimental. Viagra and other PDE-5 inhibitors only work locally and do nothing to improve arousal. Hypoactive sexual desire is still an unmet medical need, unfortunately.

Depression is a major cause of ED, as well as anxiety.

Hi flavio,

Appreciate the added info. I got 3 questions for you...

1) You mentioned meds that improve libido such as apomorphine and cabergoline. Can I be prescribed these as off label meds?

2) Would you please name other libido enhancing meds you know of?

3) Have you ever tried any of these libido meds?

1) Sorry, I don't know.

2) Bremelanotide (brand name Vyleesi) is indicated for sexual dysfunction in women but I believe many urologists prescribe it for men with good results. I've never tried it, though.

3) Yes, I tried apomorphine (brand names Zyprima, Uprima) and it was very effective. Uprima was an approved ED treatment several years ago but it's no longer available.
