I am so sorry to hear about your (possible) pump failure, and hopefully its only that because this is a very expensive toy. The implant may be warrantied, but not the surgery itself. So yes, I really do feel bad for you. Regardless, the surgeon has to go back in. Start asking questions on financing.

I found it in the operating room instructions:

PREPARE PRECONNECTED MS PUMP AND CYLINDERS The AMS 700 CX Preconnect, CXR Preconnect and LGX Preconnect Penile Prosthesis cylinders and respective pumps are provided already connected. The only connection required of the surgeon is between the pump and reservoir.

In my case though, the doctor used the plural "connects". I believe mine was separate pieces rather than the preconfigured preassembled device. I'm thinking the preassembled device doesn't have quick connects between the cylinders and pump, but mine does. Also I have very short tubing between the cylinders and pump.

thanks everyone for the support and reassurance the FT is a great forum and so glad i have found this site

[s]UPDATE[/s]!

just meet with surgeon and he was great he said it looks like a valve failure so

best news he said this will be fixed asap the device itself its covered by warranty lets book you in for Monday

then the issue of the health insurance doesn't cover the hospital expenses monday surgery put on hold for now

so he said just wait he then called the australia/NZ direcctor of AMS with no answer and left voice mail saying this device is only 18 months old and this paitent is only 33 years old we need to help him please call back

he said the device is fully covered but believes AMS should come to the table in-regards to the hospital expenses the surgeon is waiving all his fees and anaesthetist fees

he has done right by me and and very thankful

so he said even if AMS dont cover the hospital fees maybe the out of pocket expenses approx.$2000 without insurance

day surgery out patient

so i'm happy to pay this just waiting on an estimate back from sydney adventist hospital for the procedure

good news overall

Great news! I know it would be better if you did not have to go through this, but it is pretty much best case scenario compared to your thoughts in your original post. Hope they step up and you have no out of pocket expenses.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

Excellent news Jamie - that should hopefully go a long way toward improving your wife's mood :)

With all this talk of upsizing with a revision ... makes me start to wonder how long my original pump is gonna hold out
