Just tried to go into Chat and it immediately went to the new format?

Maybe the web guys moved it over. I talked to them today - I had questions. Old chat is/was so dead. It did not work for most men.
We will still keep looking, but we had to do something.

If they moved it over already, then just give yourselves time to adjust to the new format. it is a better program and it actually works!

I just see an empty box on the chat page with no options at all except for "Logout" for Chrome on Windows. However works in Edge for Windows also works in Opera. By working I mean I get the UI for the chat program. The not working in Chrome is mysterious for me. Don't have FireFox so can't vouch for that one.

I'll try my Mac later.

I don't know...of all the times I have visited chat, there were rarely more than 2 or 3 others in the room, and they weren't talking. I've never had a successful chat interaction. But, maybe that's just me, and my timing, since it appears that very few use it. I wish it were busy with conversations.

Currently trying Chat.
Its only a one-on-one, not a room experience. I would rather be given the one-on-one option when in room, like before

After some helpful hints I actually like the new interface.
1) You get to see a "badge" on the person you're privately chatting with that counts the number of messages they have sent you
2) The chat rooms are like before - multiple folks can chat in one of the two groups that are defaulted
3) I didn't like the little windows cluttering up my screen so having a list of chats with the number of messages is very helpful
4) I don't like that you get sound notifications for video/audio calls when you have sound notifications turned off
5) NO FLASH TO DEAL WITH!!! That's a positive there - hopefully it defaults to the security settings you have in the current browswer
6) A negative - still no chat on Chrome for me. Another user said it works for them so this must be some browser specific issue.

Might be helpful to publish a user's guide here that walks you through using the chat feature if FT stays with the current software (actually a user guide would be a good idea anyways for any chat program that is such a major change from what has been an FT staple of literally years).

Guys, take a look at this new chat program we can try out for free until Friday. There is a monthly charge for this program. Let me know what you think. Be warned, it is very different from the old one. The old one was a Flash Player base program. Flash Player is no longer supported by any of the major browsers. This is an entirely different kind of format

Is there a user guide somewhere on the interwebs? It's not clear how cometchathml works. If you create a group, how do others know about it? How do they join? Does a created group persist from one session to another?

I just asked Cometchat sales support if a user guide exists somewhere. I'll report back what I hear.

I guess I'm one of the few with absolutely no interest in chat. I visited it a couple of years ago, twice I think. At least when I visited, it just seemed more like a hookup site than anything else. Something I have no interest in. Maybe I just visited at the wrong times.
