Penis shortening is a risk especially when grafting is done. Or plication. Here is something of interest. I was 6” pre-!PD and 3 inches preop. 4weeks postop. I am now 3.5 inches without inflation. So while looking back, loosing half my penis was a curse of PD. I did not loose anything with the implant. Again you can’t screw with a 95 degree bend. So a straight 3 inch penis is great as far as penetrative sex goes. I have a titan and will expand when start cycling. The other day my fwb stopped by to see what I had done to myself. She was impressed how the healing was going. She asked if I could screw I said no. But I could not refuse a BJ. Well another plus post op. I can ejaculate as I did prior to the implant. Glans is very sensitive and the bj was very therapeutic. 69 four weeks postop is just a start.

I lost 4", and the referred Dr. said I was fucked!
My loss was due to negligence on their part. Some Drs, IMHO, who are full of themselves, really have forgotten their Oath when they 1st started and then they wonder why the insurance companies are raising their prices and putting forcing them to churn out as much as they can.

Why do you folks not go to the best doctor like Eid, Andrew Kramer, and Karpman? This way you will have nothing to worry about. Is it because they’re very expensive compared to local urologists?
A young guy in his early 30s from South Asia. Implanted Titan 22cm by Dr. Tariq Hakky in Atlanta (Dec 2020). Amazing doctor! No pain during recovery. My size is 5.75” x 4.6” which is better than pre-OP size of 5.6” x 4.5”. Hoping to gain more in future.

Uh, Ag went to Kramer for his revision surgery after getting an infected 3-piece. The best Kramer could give him was a malleable that was 4" shorter than his original length. Partly this might have been due to no cycling of the 3-piece during the 3 months prior but still - it was Kramer, why couldn't he do better?

To Agfa13, sorry I stepped in, in your place here. I'll retract it if you don't approve.

I seriously considered going to Kramer especially since Baltimore was my home town.
It turned out I'm glad I didn't since I had a very good result from my urologist.

I wish everyone who gets a good or bad result would put their doctor's name in their signature.

Lol, thanks Wayne. I was going to set the young one straight:).
I even showed Kramer a 'before' pic!
I am hoping this pumping helps Dr. Sklar 'find' the missing 4"

I investigated going to Dr Eid or Dr Kramer, even going so far as to enroll in the Maryland Veteran's Administration Healthcare Program. My chosen surgeon told me (quite truthfully) that "You will be overflying a lot of good surgeons if you go to the East Coast." Dr. Eid told me "Find a surgeon in love with his craft." Such a surgeon will put the patient's outcome above all other considerations. Dr. Kramer was willing to take me as a patient and a local urologist familiar with implants was willing to do the followup so I would not have to fly 5 to 8 hours back and forth to Dr. Kramer.

Then, by chance Dr. Shaw was assigned to the local Air Force Base Hospital. He had taught the procedure and told me that if he were in private practice, he would do E.D. treatments as a specialty. He also appreciated my attitude toward the surgery (thorough research and desire to be included in the decision-making process).

So, my reasons for not going to Eid, Kramer or Karpman or Ostrowski/Walsh (Seattle V.A.) was not expertise, it was the convenience of followup and trust in the surgeon.

Kramer and Eid (also Perito, Karpman, Love (Australia) and a guy in England whose name escapes me right now) are mentioned here quite often. But, as Dr. Eid and Dr. Shaw indicated, there are a LOT of good, highly experienced implanters around.

With ANY surgeon, you still have something to worry about. Even the best can have a failure once in a while.

Reason why I did not go to Dr. Kramer was because everybody cannot travel hours by car, bus, plane or anything else. I have other physical and medical problems that I having been dealing with for yrs. I could not fly or drive for hours and spend nights away from home to have my implant surgery. I live within 45 minutes of UT Medical Center and medical school. I went to a Urologist that I have seen for years that does implant surgeries. I did my research prior to my consult and the day of my consult I took three pages of typed written questions with me to my visit. The doctor complimented my on my knowledge and research the day I saw him. He answered every question that I ask him to my satisfaction even down to the number of infections. He said he had zero infections.

When I left, I felt very good about him doing my surgeries. We scheduled my surgery the day of my consult. My wife and I drove 45 minutes to The doctors office in the hospital where my surgery would have to take place. It couldn't have gone any better. We drove back home and that was it. No overnight stays period. I saw this Urologist for a few years prior to my decision to find a local Urologist in my home town. As I stated I could not have been happier with my doctor and the facilities available for my implant surgery. There was no reason to go anywhere else.

My surgery was performed on January 9,2020. It could not have gone better. Overnight stay in hospital then sent home. Six weeks of healing and then I went back this past Tuesday for the doctor to activate my pump. At this point I don't think anything would have been done any different. I have given my news toy about three test dives thus far and I don't think result could have gone any better. Just received my hospital bill and it appears every cent has been paid. If I had it to do over, I would do the same thing again. Everyone doesn't need to go to a volume provider! In my case I couldn't.

Indusvalley, you ask a good question. Let's try to put it into perspective. Last that I heard there is a little over 300 million Americans. There is a lot of Urologists here to serve that many people. A certain number do penis implants. Obviously some are better than others. There is a lot more good ones than the few that get mentioned here. Notaes has some reasons that he can't travel the distance. It sounds like he has followed the common advice that doesn't get quite enough discussion here. He has done his research, interviewed his surgeon & has decided to stay local. I'm guessing at this part. He likely doesn't have any complicating conditions that requires a top specialist do do the surgery.
Perhaps a better way to say this is he is just really fortunate to be the right patient with a capable surgeon available to him locally. We all should be so lucky. I offer him my congratulations.

I understand, it makes sense if you’re based in developed countries where there are good local urologists in your area. My situation is different since I am flying from Pakistan to US so I decided to do the research and settled with Dr Kramer. He has been super responsive so far and I feel optimistic about my upcoming surgery with him.
