As far as I know, there are no nytroglicerin topical products for the treatment of ED. In theory, however, it could work.
Nitroglycerin belongs to the group of medicines called nitrates. It works to relax the muscles and increase blood flow. And because these are topical treatments, there are less chances of side effects (you should not, however, combine them with Viagra and other PDE-5 inhibitors, it may increase the chances of hypotension)
There are creams for the treatment of anal fissures that contain nytroglicerin, I'm willing to give them a try.
Any thoughts on this?

Futura medical’s med2005 is just finishing phase 3 trials. It is nitroglycerin with a patented quick absorbing chemical that was working for most. But the placebo group was having similar results. Now the company claims the quick absorption chemical without the nitro can help with erections.
Some hemroid creams have nitroglycerin in them.

Thanks for the info, that's very interesting.
I guess if they're finishing phase 3 trials, we should be hearing from them soon, right? A topical treatment would be excellent news for all ED sufferers.
You never know in the ED business, there is so much money involved and big pharma companies don't like competition.

Talked to my Urologist about topical gel for ED, he kind of laughed. He was saying there is to much skin to penetrate for a Gel to work. Told me not to get my hopes up. Says injections are still the best thing to solve my ED

Well, that's exactly the point.
It seems that these guys have come up with some sort of delivery system that gets the job done. And if I'm not mistaken, the foreskin should be drawn back and the gel applied to the glans or head of the penis - I'm not entirely sure about this, though. We'll have to wait and see.
I contacted Futura Medical recently, they were very polite but refused to give me any info. I'm sure we'll have great news soon.

My research into this indicates that it will not be approved because there was no significant difference in the placebo group and the nitro cream. However both groups responded well. The FDA will not allow them to market this as a cure for ED if they can’t prove that it will work. What might happen is that Futura will bring to market it’s delivery chemical without the nitro. Which was the placebo in the trial.

Penetrating the skin to get engorgement of the spongiosum in the shaft and in the glans might be fairly easy. Penetrating into the Tunica Albuginea to get to the Corpus Cavernosum certainly would be more challenging. Injections get past all the barrier tissues and directly into the interior of the Tunica into the Corpus Cavernosum. That's where the action really is needed for rigidity.
Spongiosum engorgement certainly helps, though.

There are plenty of products on the market without FDA approval for treatment of anything, but approval for use and advertised for healthful purposes. The "Dietary Supplements" products, for example. So, we could see a Nitro cream advertised for "Explosive Effects" being hawked.

I’m guessing nitroglycerin is a controlled subject. Meaning it has to be proven safe and effective with expensive trials. This company probably lost 100’s of millions on this drug. I read that their stock got cut in half when the news broke.
