Hey guys, tomorrow, 4/14, I have an appt. with my Dr for my follow up surgery that was on 3/2.
I have pretty much healed, but constantly reminded that I have an IPP (Inflatable Penile Prothesis), namely the pump section.
Now, I know that handling yourself, yes, you would know, but just walking around, my balls feel tight, even though they are just hanging. When I sit down or lie down, the pump gets in the way because mine was set a bit lower because of previous infection.
My question to you guys who have had your implant for a while now, is how does your implant feel just walking around on a normal, everyday scenario?
Everything 'looks' normal, as I have taken some pics of myself, but like I said, sitting down or going to bed is a reminder. Am I going to be feeling this way, moving forward?
I only have 2 questions for him, namely the one above, and should I be doing anything at this point to help my find the valves (I have a Titan that has valves on both sides of block).
Well, actually 3. When I went to try to find the valves, I put a little pressure and things started to get uncomfortable, as though I was touching something in my balls that I was not supposed to touch, like some sort of blood vessel or tubing. Stitching area is tender at bottom of balls, not so much at top.
BTW, I am going to have this thread up as a reminder to myself on what to ask him !
Are you constantly reminded of your implant?

Re: Are you constantly reminded of your implant?
I'm over a year and a half out, and I don't notice the implant or the bulb anymore unless I think about it. Sometimes when i sit down, especially if I'm nude, I'll notice my balls hitting first or dragging a little (the pump adds quite a bit of weight to the sack). But most of the time I don't even know it's there unless I want to use it or think about it some. Early on, though, it was very noticeable to me. It felt good, both my sack and my dick were heavier and more ponderous, but they definitely were different from before.
My guess is that after some more time you'll get used to it and it will feel "normal" to you. As many here have said, it's a "new" normal but normal all the same.

Re: Are you constantly reminded of your implant?
I feel completely natural in both dick and in sac.
Re: Are you constantly reminded of your implant?
At just over 5 months out I still feel the pump when I sit. It's not uncomfortable anymore, but when I stand up off a chair the pump kind of squishes up into me. If I sleep wrong my testicles will be sore in the morning.
I have a Coloplast, and finding the release button was tough for me. Ended up back at doc three times to get deflated! At first with the swelling it was painful to even search for the release button. Sometimes I felt like there was a nerve or blood vessel in the way right in front of the button. And I have gotten my sac so sore a few times poking around for that button. Sounds like you're still healing, give it time, it's all good.

Re: Are you constantly reminded of your implant?
My surgery was on 2/21. I won't say that I don't feel it, but each day it gets a little better. Every now and then I sit wrong and it's a little uncomfortable, but for the most part, I have no issues with it. I have a new GMC Denali and the seat is so high that getting into the truck is a little uncomfortable as I feel as if I am sitting on my scrotum in order to get into the vehicle.
Pumping is VERY easy although I generally have to pump around 40 times for a firm erection. Sometimes getting to the button to deflate (Coloplast Titan) is a challenge due to the perspective that it sits in the scrotum. I can generally reach the deflate button, but getting a finger on the backside of the button to provide a base to squeeze from is a different story. I'm learning more each day and each day I feel more comfortable with the implant. While I had my doubts about doing the right thing the first couple of weeks, I am now convinced that my life has changed significantly for the better after the surgery.

Re: Are you constantly reminded of your implant?
The only time I really notice mine is if I sit just right and push the pump up into the underside of my penis. I have short tubing because my corporotomies (incisions in the corpora) are just at or slightly external to my pubic bone underneath and when I sit the wrong way on my pump it pushes against things and also pulls the tubing away from where it has started to adhere to the underside. This tends to cause soreness in that area the next day.
The above issue occurs less frequently as time goes by and other than pulling on tubing adhesions, the actual pushing of the pump into the underside of my penis is causing less discomfort than it used to.

I basically forgot aout mine in 2008 and haven't thought about it since. I know it's there, of course, but it doesn't enter my consciousness any more than my dental Implants do.

My surgery was in Oct 2019. I randomly get a sharp in that reminds me just during my daily life, usually on the left side. I remember the first time I rode a bike after it felt like I was sitting on a golf ball. I rode 5 miles yesterday and did not even notice it was there. I feel like I have a chubby alot...like alot, and I have a hard time keeping my hands off it LOL.

Re: Are you constantly reminded of your implant?
I have an AMS and the pump is pretty heavy. I am most aware when rolling over in bed and sometimes if getting up to walk, ill feel a heaviness there, like a heavy third ball. It's something I have gotten used to, so it's not a big deal. Sometimes tight underwear or a jock helps if youre going to be doing an activity for a long period but that's true for any guy with balls. lol
My penis is always slightly hard, so that does feel different . Again, you get used to it but it definitely feels somewhat artificial.

Re: Are you constantly reminded of your implant?
Time will make it easier for you, my scrotum was very tender for a couple of months. Finding the little bump for the deflate valve gets easier after the swelling gets better, I have to use my left hand to push button and hold the whole valve with my right hand and it is easy to do now.
